No it doesn't. I didn't recognize Margarito as a champion and neither did many boxing fans even though he had the WBO. Has nothing to do with where its from.

People don't like the WBO because the are just another money grubbing parasite of an organization who are only out for themselves. People don't like the WBO because they once had a guy ranked in their top 10 after he was dead. People don't like the WBO for a variety of reasons. I really doubt they just hate the WBO because Margarito held their title.

the WBO was illegitimate in the 90s, but it is as 'legit' a belt as the others nowadays...although I think its either the least credible or second least credible, along with the WBA.
