Anyway, defeating an old Rahman or Toney won't be much of a win for him. I mean, Rahman struggled against Zuri Lawrence in his last fight, and Toney was given a gift decision against journeyman Batchelder.

Haye should go after a proven veteran who's not yet shot, like John Ruiz, or a young fighter like Dimitrenko or *****ko.

So Haye is ducking Tua in order to pursue a fight with either:

the old former crackhead Oliver McCall (who looked slow in his last fight with JC Gomez) OR Hasim Rahman (who was almost defeated by clubfighter Zuri Lawrence in his last fight).

What does this tell us about Haye?

Haye says he's likely going to instead face Rahman, a shot fighter who's looked terrible in his past two.

But now that Wlad is set to fight Rahman, suddenly he has stopped saying things like this. His view is

Only a couple of months ago he was "Hasbeen Rahman" and "a *****" and "delicate-chinned and shot". Why no mention of Rahman apparently "almost losing to feather fisted journeyman Zuri Lawrence"?

Another thing is the question of who the better fighter is, Toney or Rahman. When Haye looked to be choosing Rahman over Toney:

But Haye will duck old Toney - "Lights Out" has a good chin, and even at age 40, has better stamina than the Englishman.

Haye will choose an opponent with a more delicate chin, someone he can KO like Rahman.

If Haye fights Toney, I'll be rooting for "Belly's Out" for the first time ever.

And I'm willing to bet Toney would defeat him.

He wants Rahman because he knows Hasbeen would be the easier fight.

But when it's a question of Wlad fighting Rahman over Toney:

Yes, and Hasim Rahman is younger, bigger, and has been more active than Toney. He's still the man who KOed Lennon Lewis, and that helps to sell the fight.

Rahman makes more sense than Toney.

I also got the impression that Wlad always fought tough opposition, and that Haye was scared and was looking for the easiest possible opponent. However:

This will be a very good win for Barrett at this stage in his career - he was always willing to fight anybody, he's a warrior who deserves the best.

David Haye must feel Monte Barrett is too much of a risk, since he won his last three by early KO. Monte may be 36 but he's not shot yet!

So Haye wants a shot fighter like Rahman, who in the past year or so has had difficult fights with the likes of Taurus Sykes and Zuri Lawrence?

If Haye backed away from fights with Kevin Johnson, Monte Barrett, Tony Thompson and Eddie Chambers, then he is not a serious heavyweight contender and is just looking to cash out in a fight with Wlad.

It seems he wants an easy opponent for Nov 15 - either a shot fighter like Maskaev or Rahman, or a clubfighter with a padded record like Chapman.
