calzaghe didn't CLEARLY beat hopkins tho. besides that, i think dawson would be the fav going into a fight with hopkins, jones, or any other lt. heavy.

its hard to make joe the man w/ only 1 fight at the weight, especially with a far from clear win like the one he had......

problem is, and ppl may or may not agree, at this point i'd give joe bigger props for beating dawson, than having even clear-cut wins over jones and hopkins. also don't forget, even tho hopkins beat the man, it was still very much disputed as to who the real man was at lt. heavy. the main argument was that hopkins beat tarver back in '06, since then he hadn't fought any other lt. heavyweights. so even before hopkins and calzaghe fought, it wasn't a clear consensus that hopkins was indeed the man. he was maybe the biggest name, besides roy, but there was still a question as to who was the most talented fighter. like i said, i love hopkins, but i think dawson is the man now. the road goes through him.
