Hopkins was an unknown and way too green just starting out his career. And Toney was a weight drained corpse that night and had to lose more than 50 pounds for the fight.

The Author of this thread is full of ****. He is discrediting 3 Hall of Famers in this thread. Jones, Hopkins, & Toney as well as many other champions Roy beat with this ****** as thread. He obviously doesn't know that the green Hopkins Roy fought was 3 years older than Roy when they fought & had just about the same amount of fights. If the OP of this thread had of been around back then he would've been 1 of the main people picking Montell Griffin in the rematch. lol

jones beat toney and hopkins, thats it.

he was fighting UNKNOWN fighters at the pinnacle of his career. you don't see pac fighting no names. as much as i hate mayweather, he was at least fighting known fighters even though he was still dodging cotto.

jones is a good guy, and a great fighter, but the fact is he dodged people, and he wasnt what a #1 p4p champ should represent.

Yeah good post but we have been over this **** a million times already. We just gotta accept that there are a few guys on this site who are unable to appreciate Roy and just want to hate on him at every opportunity.
