Mijares HAS to be the most overrated fighter I've ever seen

He's a hater. He's guilty of liking a fighter and jumping ship as soon as they lose multiple times.

Mijares did a terrible job fighting against Vic. Hopefully Mijares can do better on his next fight.

I just woke up from a nap. Prior to the Mijares - Vic fight I was planning on putting up a thread asking anyone if they wanted to bet and I was gonna pick Vic.

Now, now, before y'all jump on me. On paper/fights I've seen of Mijares it seemed like he had all the tools to beat VIc. But the one thing, and the one thing that kept me thinkin' that Vic might just pull it off, was not so much Vic's power, but, was Vic gonna respect what Mijares had for him? It turns out I was right. Too bad for me not waking up on time, damn it.

Anyway, I still got Nonito in the rematch.

Whilst I obviously think Diego is overstating his point there is an element of truth to what he says. I'm a Mijares fan but the fact is if he was as good as me and all of his other fans on here thought he was he would not have been destroyed by Vic. Mijares should not escape criticism for this performance.

Since a lot of people were making a case for Mijares being in the top 5 P4P, he obviously was overrated to some degree. Boxing sure would be boring if it was 100% predictable.

                True Scott.

I must admit I was one of those as well. Based on his recent performances I saw him having no trouble with Vic whatsoever. It just confirms what I already knew - I know next to nothing about this sport.

Here's what no one mentioned prior to tonight's fight. Even in defeat, Mijares is still a fighter with terrific skills, but, everyone overlooked his lack of punching power. Against a tenacious fighter like Darchinyan, you gotta have something for him to respect and Mijares simply didn't have it.

Like I said in an earlier thread, we know Mijares got skills, but would he have enough to keep Darchinnyan off of him! This the reason why I thought Vic may be able to pull it off. I mean, just look at Mijares's ko ratio(it's downright laughable)

didn't know Arce was that far gone. I know Mijares completely tooled him and it said in an article on here about Ace targeting some other fighter so we'll see.

good point even the announcers brought up the difference in kayo's between the 2 fighters (I think it was 15<24)

and even watching the fight from the opening bell Vic minus the occasional body shots Vic really didn't seem to be slowed down the least bit by Christan's punches what so ever.

                      That's essentially what happened.

Full credit to Vic for fighting an intelligent fight, and an impressive KO win against a very slick and skillful opponent.
