I was there in the crowd seeing Vic. V. Burgos. And by the 8th round i was rooting for Vic to ko' Burgos just because i wanted to see a ko, i was rooting for Burgos at first but Vic's power and style won me over though i was surprised how Vic couldn't follow up when he landed a good shot.

Reason he and other point out to the Mexican fans is because they are fighting in California. And for the most part Mexicans are the majority at a boxing match and if you give a great effort they'll respect you no matter your race, case in point Vanda v. Chavez Jr. they apploauded Vanda and booed Chavez the fight was in Mexico.

Shane Mosley last fought in Carson and the majority of people in the audience were of Mexican decent and they cheered for Mosley.

In an intense boxing match, i would assume the crowd could life a fighter.

And a great performance can gain you new fans, they are Mexican fans and they are boxing fans that will go and see you fight live or buy your ppv.

King did the same thing Trinidad in the East Coast except it was all about the Puerto Ricans. He did the samething with Tyson except it was all about the blacks.

The people that make the majority in the audience is the people the promoters etc, are going to play too.

i think vic believes mexicans dont like mijares because he is a defensive fighter but he is wrong mijares doesnt just settle to land weak punches and hope for a decision he has that warrior mindset and takes advantages to really hurt his opponents and land combinations, unlike some coward like calderon u will see him take a step forward and try to unleash some offense

Thanks for that clarification but in all honesty, a fighter could have all the fans support and it still would have no significance on the outcome of the fight. I dont see why it matters, but I understand what your saying. Its a slap in the face...
