PHX PLAYMAKER/toluco: I've been a supporter of Montiel for quite a while now. But, I also have gained more and more respect for Mijares, whose mission seems to be unifying the championship. So, if they clash, I'll cheering them both on. However, this little Armenian is a tricky one, so I do believe (if anybody is interested) it will end up Montiel facing Darchinyan.

Who would you pick between Montiel & Vic ? I believe that Mijares is going to win a unanimous decision vs Vic then Montiel knocks him out in 09.

        yeah me too
i think montiel would defeat mijares but it would be really close both men are capable of wining a decision and knocking each other out
but some promoter better do it soon because both want to move up to 118 and it would be a shame if that happened, montiel vs mijares for the 4 alphabets would be the biggest fight in the history of the division

I really doubt that Mijares would KO Montiel but he may be able to win a close split decision. But my money is going to be on Montiel by KO/TKO, he's a beast right now at 115.

PHX PLAYMAKER/toluco: Well, these are fights in which you definitely ain't certain who you gonna pick. That's why jr. bantam has been such a intriguing division lately. I remember when the division was introduced (wasn't it by WBC in early 80's?) and we all went YUCK!

I still think it's a totally unnecessary weight class, but for now, Mijares, Montiel, Darchinyan, Munoz, Donaire (moving up?), Z G, Arce and more, they're all contributing to make this jr. bantam **** resembling to the great heavyweight era in the '70s, when Ali & Co. fought for positions.

And I'm gonna enjoy while it last. May the best warrior win!
