Arum said that he was happy with Margs performance and would look to get him back in contention. Since then, Margs has been on a streak. Pwill lost one. This whole mess can be blamed on Bob Arum. But in his defense, he did what was best for Margs. He could have taken the immediate rematch for way less money, lost, and then been a cast-off for the rest of his career. Instead he followed Arum's path which has him with a ton of fans now after a career-defining victory.

When Arum offered Floyd 8 mill to fight Margs, Shane and Winky came on record saying they would fight Margs for 8 mill. Arum said you are not Mayweather and offered them 4 mill. Both rejected it.

Though it has fallen off in the recent months, boxing talk . com used to have Bob Arum on their site giving interviews on a regular basis. He even said it himself. That is why Margs is only fighting on Arum promoted shows. Arum has his nuts in a grinder.

Please dont ignore the fact that the reason didnt give Margarito an immediate rematch was because there was a deal for him to unify with Cintron. But after the Feliciano fight, Cintron injured his hand and couldnt make the date. By then Margarito had signed to fight Cotto. Williams didnt go after a bum. he went after former WBA champion Quintana who was no slouch. Margarito is going to avoid Williams and the fight will happen in the same time frame as Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins. Maybe in about 15 years

so if there was a deal in place to unify contingent on Cintron beating Feliciano wasnt that fight Thanksgiving weekend and that night is when he hurt his hand or do you not remember him crying like a girl on the floor right after the fight? If so then how could Tony have been signed to fight Cotto when he hadn't even fought Cintron yet? how could have Cintron been okay on one hand NOT to fight PWill then turn around and fight Tony?

and mind you his fight with Quintana happened in Feb 2008.

so all this dealing happened late fall early winter and not right after July 14th which is something you seem to be ignoring.

Before Cotto fight I have no plans for Williams anytime soon
And rejected the 4 million dollar offer and now calling Oscar and Mosley when Williams called him out

truth is.. paul williams did turn down an "IMMEDIATE" rematch with marg... that's what pissed marg off... it wasnt till the cintron fight fell through for williams and instead cintron was fighting marg with plans for the winner to fight cotto that williams started publicly calling margarito out... once he realized that marg was gonna fight cintron and potentially cotto, williams started going margarito crazy.. and now that marg is recognized as the champ he still continues to want the rematch.. with good reason though.. but that's how it went down

Pwill had signed to fight Cintron not Margs. Cintron bitched out and chose to fight Margs. Pwill was left with no fight partner, so he fought Quintana. Who is no bum!

I give Margs big credit. He fought Pwill when most would have vacated their belt and waited for Cotto. It didn't hurt that his CAREER BEST PAYDAY was being offered. But he fought him, and fought well in a losing effort. I am sure Margs wanted the rematch, just not his promoter. After Oscar beats Manny, Arum will be hurting. Look for a Margs vs Cotto trilogy. Margs vs Pwill will only happen if Margs beats everyone and runs out of options for big paydays.
