thats funny how people keep saying mosley called out tony,,tony called him out years ago when shane was good and shane said he didn't want to fight him,,now tony is the man and everybody wants him...i hope they don't fight,shane is too old and yes he ko'd mayorga,but that fight was boring and he looked old,and lets not forget mayorga isn't a great fighter,hope tony fights someone else.

Because HBO has a budget which they have to keep to, Margarito-Mosley IS an expensive fight for HBO to pay for unless both fighter reduce there pay demand.

It easier and cheaper for HBO to stage a Margarito-lesser known fighter or Mosley-lesser known fighter, the only fights HBO would take a budget gamble on who be a oscar,Mayweather,tyson etc fight.

WILLIAMS is the man at 147 whether you accept that or not. He beat Margarito who beat "the man". Williams avenged his loss in incredible fashion. or do you actually need to see the petition letter Team Magarito sent to Rick Reeno, the owner of this site, asking to be placed as the mandatory to Williams?

in fact you act as though Team Margarito and Goossen Tutor dont get along when in fact they do very well.

when the petition came forth, Dan Goossen also put in a request for an optional so he could see what big money matchups were out there. The BO came back with the ruling that while Margarito would be placed as the #1 for Williams, Williams would also be allowed an optional which ended up being Quintana in Feb.

so Williams, Goossen, and Peterson didn't want to see Margarito during this time frame. Now before you get all huffy......WILLLIAMS WAS NOT DUCKING TONY..he was looking for th biggest fight out there but his problem is that he is very good.....and not very marketable so bigger names ignored him and he took the Quintana fight in Feb of 2008.

Margarito in turn was told by Arum that we will move on without the Williams fight, took a small fight on a major PPV to stay busy, then would go after a belt in his next fight. Once Cintron started calling Margarito out it made sense to make that fight and once the money was in place it was set to have Cotto and Margarito on the same card with the hopes of having them set up their fight in July

Please dont ignore the fact that the reason didnt give Margarito an immediate rematch was because there was a deal for him to unify with Cintron. But after the Feliciano fight, Cintron injured his hand and couldnt make the date. By then Margarito had signed to fight Cotto. Williams didnt go after a bum. he went after former WBA champion Quintana who was no slouch. Margarito is going to avoid Williams and the fight will happen in the same time frame as Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins. Maybe in about 15 years

Quintana was not the WBA TITLE holder... it was a VACANT belt..that Cotto and Quintana fought for....

Quintana was blasted out in the 5th and went on to fight a 8 rounder, before scholling Williams...

PW denied MArg an immediate rematch ..even tho the WBO made marg the #1 contender. PW had a choice, he chose Quintana..and lost. Marg moved on. Williams has to wait now. its that simple.

If im Mosely, I take the berto fight, put a whooping on him. He beats and undefeated young champ, gets a title and more money, and brings his name back to the top. Now he fights whomever.
