Calzaghe stated after Hopkins fight that it was his hardest fight
This is one of the few intelligent things I have seen you post.

The thing to remember is that looking good against guys like Andrade, Mundine, Beyer and Sartison does not necessarily mean you would beat the top guys in that division or the one above that. The only time Kessler has stepped up he got a whooping.

I don't care what Calzaghe said. The fight with Kessler required a higher level of performance.

Pavlik lost one fight at 170 and won one at 168 or 166 and you're saying he can't compete?

When did Taylor become top dog at 168??? That fight was very close and Taylor could easily have gotten the decision like Calzaghe over Hopkins.
Kessler was hurt by a Calzaghe body shot and hurt against Dimitri Sartison

Calzaghe showed how hard it to **** with 175 boys and got lucky. Pavlik found out the hard way

Taylor is considered an elite fighter. I agree the fight was close but that was because both men fought well.

It's boxing, someone with Kessler's style is bound to be hurt from time to time. Still hasn't come close to going down.

He hasn't gone down because he hasn't fought fighters like Johnson Tarver Hopkins Calzaghe Dawson in their primes. Pavlik could not move 10 pounds with trouble, Hatton as well. Taylor was a elite fighter at 160 not 168 there is a difference.

It is not his fault that he has not fought any of those guys in their primes. You can make the same criticism of Dawson really.

We'll see how Taylor does in his next few fights but there are several fighters who have made the transition from 160 to 168 and beyond with relative easy. There is no reason to suspect someone with Kessler's frame and talent would be any different.

He'll be fighting some guys naturally bigger, whether they would be faster or better boxers is very much debatable.
