Aside from that fight the only notable name on his record is Mario Veit (the guy Calzaghe KO'd in round 1) who also defeated Perdomo.

This fight would be a waste of time and money.
I have never seen the guy fight, I doubt you have either. I agree the fight is hardly mouthwatering but if he is listed as number 2 by the WBA then you have to accept their ranking system.

It's a poor excuse by his team saying oh we want this fight to make it an all danish thing. If you don't like those choices move down to 60 or up to 175. Dawson V Kessler, Pavlik V kessler, Abraham V kessler. There are a lot of fights out there for the unknown kessler.
If Kessler can't get a fight in America then it makes sense for his promoters to cater for their market which happens to be Europe.

        Accept their ranking system? Wtf?

Kessler has a great deal of talent. He has proven that he belongs in the top category of fighters at 168 and 175. As one of those guys he should not be fighting absolute nobodies every single fight. If this is what the WBA wants then he should just throw the belt in the trash. What does holding an alpha title even mean anyway? As a Kessler fan I will be really disappointed if this fight comes off.

I don't see why I should accept their ranking system.

            Kessler's WBA belt is meaningless.

Even Team Palle acknowledged their mistake of going for the WBA belt instead of taking the Miranda fight. When they realized Mundine wasn't taking the fight against Kessler, it was too late as Miranda was already in negotiations with Abraham.

Exactly. It astounds me that ppl still think holding one of the worthless alphas means something.

The ranking system is there to ensure that fighters have a structured way towards getting a title shot. I don't necessarily agree with their rankings but as the WBA champion Kessler has a responsibility to adhere to them.

He took the piss out of Andrade who has just been robbed of a victory against Bute who many on here were suggesting was the next big thing at 168.

I'm sure if the right opportunity comes up they will happily sacrifice the title in order to make more money.
