JC would have done quite well aganst alot of the other fighters you listed i cant be bothered in going into the ins and outs of how he would have fared aginst each and very one of them.
but i will say this out of todays 4 kings - hopkins, JC, RJJ and toney i see joe beating a prime hopkins, iv given my reasons beore and i cant bearsed going into it again. as for the match-up with RJJ again i think that JC has good chance, he is exactly what RJJ wouldn't want to see a pressure fighter with a high volume, terrific handspeed an awesome chin and virtually limitless stamina.
however the one fighter i do see JC losing to is a prime Kames Toney, alot of the other fighters you mentioned, bernard in particular are slick and ahve good movement andfootwork and counterpunchig. however i personally feel as though bernard has developed these traits more as he got older, yes he was always good at them but now hes great at them. a prime toney however seemed to have the boxing smarts and ring generalship of someone who was 10 years his snr. i see joe losing to toney and being frustrated by him as well.

This post is pathetic. No ONE but you is making this a race or national issue. It's you who are projecting your biases on other people.Okay, so I'll agree with you: all European fighters are inferior, and African-Americans are the superior race.
Joe Calzaghe, like all European fighters, is a bum. All famous black fighters from 160 to 175 throughout boxing history would have an easy time against a pathetic boxer like Joe! Every one of them would KO him in the first round.
Oh, and you should have had a "none of the above" as an option in the poll.
People don't like Joe because he is overrated and his fanboys are annoying.Comment

I agree.I would pick Calzaghe to beat Griffith and Barkley(easily), but that's it. I seen a lot of people underestimating Michael Nunn, probably because they haven't see him fight. He was a very slick southpaw, good power, great boxer and a volume puncher as well. He was also a very big middle/super middleweight. I like his straighter punches and better hand speed.
Barkley is a tough guy but he is pretty much made for Joe. Maybe Iran at his best could have a competitive slugfest against Calzaghe if he fights like he did against Duran and lands his counter left hook.
Griffith is too small, he was a welterweight who was somehow successful at 160 although he was definitely not a natural middleweight.
He did give trouble to Monzon in their second fight so I wouldn't count him out completely.Comment

I heard abadger once say that Calzaghe would beat Hagler. I am not sure if he was kidding or not.
Obviously Hagler wrecks him and it is not open for discussion.Comment
