I have an interesting concept and want YOUR opinion

secondly it costs about $7,000 for my buddy to show ufc fights at his bar. I'm sure it would cost more in a movie theater. There's no way they would be able to cover the cost on ticket sales alone. It would never happen.

Sounds good on the surface but in reality it would present problems. I like to sit in a theater with quietness, fight gatherings are totally the opposite, people watching actual movies in other theaters would be annoyed. But Id love to go to a theater and watch a live PPV, they would possibly make more money too because one person couldnt buy one price and have 20 buddies over, they would all have to pay to watch, also no taping which would lose money for the network as taping it the person could show others later who hadnt paid.

bad idea, because some fans are so idiotic that they'll want to fight people in the theatre who are rooting for a different fighter than there own.

whats the difference if you're live at the fight?

people still fight AT the fight when fans of opposite fighters get together...

it does help out the ppv's though...

when you order at your house YOU order it but you have X amount of friends over who watch it...so they sold ONE ppv but 7 people got to see it...or however many friends you have over...

in the movies EVERYONE pays to watch it.

I went to the movies last night...As i was watching the movie an interesting idea hit me...

What do we all love here? boxing.

Well i was thinking how cool it would be to watch ppv's at the movies (or a similar venue).

Imagine sitting in a big movie theater...with a HUGE screen...tons of people in there with you...loud surround sound...and it being a ppv fight?

i think its a good idea in theory...they would charge everyone less than the standard $50 you pay at home due to the fact there would be so many people they could charge everyone $10-$15 and its a cross between being at home...and being there live...

just an idea...might be a ****** one...let me know your thoughts.

We do that already in PR... The bad thing is that when you get to the theater it's aready full lol at least for the Cotto fights... I prefer to watch them at home for free and if anyone want to join me, they have to bring beer...

I actually suggested this idea as part of a marketing/fundraising event for work and it got a positive response, might be in the works. I'd mos def be down for this. Great way to get boxing some more exposure. More people might be inclined to check out the fights at a public venue. Depends on how the pricing would work for tickets.
