I was watching Tarver vs Woods and comparing it to the fight against Dawson, and Tarver did look sharper, faster, and showed better movement against Woods.

If this was Tarver 4 years ago I would give him a really good shot at beating Dawson. Really their styles are similar, it's just that Dawson is younger and Tarver is almost 40. Although I don't want to see a rematch, Tarver can win if Dawson gets overconfident, but most likely it will be Dawson winning another UD.

Of course, Dawson has a much higher workrate, faster hands, better skilled and in his prime.

i said he has a slim chance, never rule an experienced and tough vet like tarver out

but 98% chance he gets out boxed again, wide UD for chad and an un necessary fight for antonio- retire

Tarver is a ****, his cute wife is a cover-up. They should put this **** on espn, since it is a waste of Hbo, Showtimes money. I hope neither of those channels buy it.

The Tarver that fought Dawson looked like the same washed up Tarver who fought Hopkins. Having a great showing against Woods only 6 months before the Dawson fight, it makes you wonder whether it was the opposition in front of him that caused this stark contrast or was it some other undetermined factors? The Hopkins defeat was put down to the Rocky movie weight gains and subsequent drains. It seems like a viable proposition. But on the surface there seems to be no plausible explanation for Tarver's lacklustre performance against Dawson other than the level of the opposition in combination with Tarver's advancing age. We should find out for sure in a rematch and, while you can never count Tarver out completely, the odds on favorite has got to be Dawson by a considerable margin. Maybe Tarvers days are numbered.

Its not fair Johnson doesn't get a rematch even though a lot of people thought he won and Tarver who gets dominated does, i suppose as there is a rematch clause they don't have any choice.

Johnson wasn't even a mandatory and a rematch clause was not in the contract, where as Tarver was the champion so he has the right to exercise it. Chad's camp choose Johnson because he was a big name and it would look good his record. I think he underestimated Johnson as well because in an interview about a month before the fight, Chad stated that he was looking at Glen's last against Hugo Pienda and seen that he noticeably slowed down. All of that could be neutralized when you abandon your game plan, something wouldn't happen if they were to ever rematch.

Dawson beats Tarver again, but i also believe that it will go the exact same way the first fight went, but with Tarver possibly doing slightly better.

IMO, Tarver was having trouble timing Dawson in the first fight more than anything else. I really think he underestimated the speed he was up against. Late in the fight, it seemed like Tarver was starting to get more into a rhythm. I think he does better in a rematch, but Dawson still pulls it out.

I think it would go pretty much the same way as the first fight, maybe more one sided.
