I said no because IMO he would have to win another big fight to make my top 10, there are guys who are champs and havent lost in years who arent top 10, so the fact that ROy lost 3times in the last 4 yrs two 2 P4P unranked champions, and has come back and won 3 against unranked nobodies, why would a win over a highly overrated Calzaghe grant him top 10!
If RJJ beats JC, does he move onto the P4P list?

Excellent point, man. It would easy to just give into hyperbole, and automatically grant RJJ a spot in the top ten.I'm not so sure if he deserves to be on there, but hear me out.
First off, I wanna say RJJ is my top 2 favorite boxers ALLTIME, the other being Tyson. So by no means am I saying this cos I'm a hater or anything. (Yes I'm betting on Calzaghe over RJJ too according to my sig but thats only cos RJJ is old).
Everybody else on the top 10 P4P right now has at least a couple of notable wins or has been on some sort of streak.
Roy hasn't done anything significant for a looong time. I mean, check his last five fights for yourself. Prince Badi Ajamu? Anthony Hanshaw? If he beats Calzaghe, I wouldn't take anything away from RJJ, cos I'm a Calzaghe fan myself, so yeah that would be a huge feat. Just saying, I wouldn't feel right knocking off a lot of these guys on the top 10 right now who have had really good streaks going against really strong competition. Cos then its like saying just beating Calzaghe is a bigger accomplishment than those wins.Comment

I can sorta agree with this, but it depends on whose p4p list you're going by. If you're putting a new guy in the top ten, then you're moving someone else out. Here is Ring Magazine's p4p right now. Who would you displace off of this list?I'm not so sure if he deserves to be on there, but hear me out.

hmmm...
that's really tough. If I absolutely had to choose, I guess I might pick rafael marquez or cotto. Only because they're the ones with the most recent losses. I hate to take Cotto off the list though, cos he's pretty complete of a boxer and he did have an amazing streak of wins before his loss.
Thing is I've never been one to judge a fighter's P4P status purely on their wins. I put more weight into their actual skillset as a boxer (which is why I never had Marg or Pavlik too high). Which is also why it'd be hard to take Cotto off the list for me.
Another thing to mention is Paul williams place on that top 10. I'm not a fan of him to be honest. I'm really not sold on him either. It's just that he has been racking up some impressive wins (especially with 2 one round KOs). I think hes hard to ignore too, so you'd have to consider that as well.Comment

Wow, nice replies guys. Some of your guys' responses are a bit shocking to me, but hey, to each his own. I just think if he beats JC and beats him pretty bad, there is no way you can leave him off the list.Comment
