oh joe touched him..and i had hopkins winning the first fight with taylor and felt the 11th round cost him in the second fight

This is a catch 22. If B-hop beat himself in those fights, then Pavlik beat himself against B-hop. I choose to believe, for whatever reason, that they just had either off nights or the styles of their opponents were just not right for them.

We go back to the style making fights..........again. It's just too true. No way around it.

        Example? Sure............

Everyone knows Roy Jones is better than Tarver and Glen Johnson in every imaginable aspect of boxing, but they were able to give him trouble. (mainly Tarver) There is pretty much a counter style for every style there is. Period.

        Ali & Frazier
        Foreman(prime) & Ali
        Tyson & Lennox
        Trinidad & B-hop
        Trinidad & Wright
        Vitali & Peter

..............and the list goes on and on.

He knew full well that he couldn't beat Taylor or Joe by adopting the same style he did against Pavlik, that's why he was on the defensive all night in both fights.

Pavlik fought the wrong guy, Hopkins loves fighting one dimensional fighters, they make him look better than he is at his advanced age (not to take any credit away from him, he did a number on Pavlik, something not even Taylor could do)

The fact remains, if Hopkins had that performance left in him, why didn't he produce it against Joe? Maybe it's because he understands a lot more about boxing and styles than you do...
You don't think Hopkins could've potshotted Pavlik with ease?

Hopkins did lose to Taylor and Calzaghe though, because he didn't use the right style: throw combinations.

Any of those fights coulda been draws or close Hopkins victories. Hopkins always had the strong rds wit the cleaner, harder shots landed, but he was toos elective and lost those fights on the sheer basis of bein outworked. Taylor and Joe C hardly landed anything clean and effective on B-Hop, they just impressed the judges by throwin more shots.
