bernard came out with an interview praising roy, and saying he would love to fight roy, hes a legend... and he would wanna do a 50/50 fight... roy quickly reponded back to btalk.com, roy was excited and surprised at everything nardsaid... and complimented bernard back and told g leon to have bernard send him the contract... roy quickly called back after receiving the contract and said... u know what the contract says? after gold boy takes 25% of the purse.. then we split it... he was upset

According to Jones, Hopkins turned down $8 million for a rematch back in 2001. He also spoke to Jones about a rematch in 2006, but Jones called it a ploy to land the fight with Tarver.
