idiots always make it a race issue. Lampley and Merchant gave Hopkins all the respect in the world last night. Merchant was noting how there was too much to lose in regards to legacy for Pavlik because Hopkins will make you look amatuerish. And thats what happened. None of this "because Pavlik is white and Hop is black" bull****. Grow the **** up kids.

HBO royally kicked Pavlik while he's down

first denying him other Middleweight opponents (article says HBO turned down 6 names) such as Joe Greene or Rubio (who IMO would have been a great set up for a fight vs Abraham next year)

the the fact that Pavlik has to move up to 170 for the fight with Hop, outside of his "comfort zone" as the commentators will say

and then the royal kick in the nuts, the commentators rip the fight itself saying that the PPV buys won't help either fighter in regard to bonuses.

**obviously HBO has it's biases and this article just shows how fickle they are about one of there big young stars losing.

I agree. They seemed to call the fight accurately and give due credit to Hopkins. Of course the fight was so one sided there really wasn't two sides to the story. Lampley's call of the AM-MC fight was disgraceful.

I never thought I'd agree with you on anything. Then again we ain't talkin' about PAC vs mexican'*s, so your screws on your head haven't loosened up. But Sunday ain't over yet, there's still alot of trash-talkin' to be had.

well put! i dont understand a lot of the comments on this thread. Hopkins was given all the respect in the world yesterday that he deserved for fighting a brilliant fight like the HOF fighter he is!

Rubio, Joe Greene, Williams, Wright, and whoever the other two fighters they had in mind combined could not generate a 3 million dollar payday for Pavlik last night.

The upside for PAVlik, well he's still young at 26 years old, it's up to him if he wants let this one lost affect him postively or negatively with what's gonna happen to him for the rest of his career. Its not like he took a beating the way Fernando Vargas did when he faced Tito. Or the promising fighter, Davey Moore, when Duran gave him a hellacious beating as well.

My advice to Pavlik, enjoy your 3 million, fire your coach(Roach would be my recommendation) and get your head back in the game!

HBO is bias and racist towards non-blacks period. How much more proof do peeps need? Listen to the way they called Kelly's KO win over JT.....then listen to how they call Floyd's KO over Hatton......two knockouts with two different emotions behind the mic. Lennox Lewis, Max Kellerman, and Manny Stewart are the REAL experts at HBO. Lampley and Merchant are fan boys!

Pavlik's KO over Taylor was a come from behind knockout. Mayweather had been dominating Hatton for three rounds already. It is a question of context, not racism.

Wow, they were really showing their racism against Hopkins. All that "age is just a number" ****, man I have never heard such subtle racism in my life.

Strongly disagree. How much proof do we need? A bit more than nothing at all would be nice.

George Foreman was biased as hell too. We all have some level of bias, but I see no reason to believe that it's racial with HBO.
