i wouldnt say pavlik had an off night. he just didnt know what he was gettin hisself into when he fought bhop. he never fought someone like hopkins so he was completely overwhelmed. throughout his career pavlik has fought guys who stand in front of him and have alright defense. last night was his first time steppin in the ring with an elusive target with great defense and boxing skill. he simply couldnt adapt and therefore lost the fight. I give pavlik respect cause it took balls to challenge hopkins and at that weight. not too many fighters are willing to move up in weight and go directly after one of the top guys in that weight class. to me that shows courage and thats something boxing needs more of. well whatever the case good victory bhop and im more than sure kelly pavlik will bounce back. he shouldnt feel too bad cause he lost to a living legend and ATG. And he didnt give up and he tried his best. No shame in that.

He never threw punches because Hopkins countered him every time he tried. Kick a dog in the nuts everytime he bites you and he will learn not to bite.

Hopkins surprised everyone, including Pavlik and his team, with how much he had left, his speed was also very surprising for a 43 year old man.

I think the fight being at 170 affected Pavlik but it's hard to say if that's the case or if it was because Hopkins was just so good he made Pavlik look sloppy.
I totally agree what next for Pavlik id like to see him give John Duddy a shot at his middlewg titles

I'm sorry, but how is this going to be a good experience for Pavlik?

I'm sure he can't sleep, after the schooling Hopkins just gave him...

Even months down the line, Kelly's gonna be waking up in the middle of the night screaming.

i hope he does his great to watch at middle weight all great fighters lose but they come back stronger well its a sign of a good fighter to learn from a lose & turn it a round at middle his very good wouldn't suggest he go up in weight for a long time but big money fights might take him there he will be in some good fights but hope the loss doesn't do too much to his head anyways no shame.
