Like i have i said, there were on the pound for pound list for what they did for their entire career, not just what they did at super featherweight. And as someone has mentioned earlier, those ring magazine ranking are twisted. One win over a top fighter, then you can pop up on there.Comment

You make some some decent points, however i see that you are basing this mainly on skill, and not accomplishments and what these fighters have done at 130 only. Lets take a look at their achievements at 130 alone.
Mayweather started his career at 130 and spent much more time there, while Pacquaio has brief reign there that consisted of past their prime legends and only 8 fights and one of those being a lost to Eric Morales.
Mayweather won the title from Genaro Hernandez, who had only lost 1 time out of 40 fights and that was to De La Hoya in his prime. Hernandez was a 2X super featherweight champion, was in his prime, had good wins over Azumah Nelson( who he won the title from), Jorge Paez ect, he beat other top contenders and had a good title reign. He was also inducted into the hall of fame.
Mayweather's win over a prime Jesus Chavez( who later went on to become lightweight champion) is also often overlooked. Floyd was the first to beat him when he was in his prime and he also stopped him.
His win over Corrales, as i have stated earlier in this thread IMO is better than than any of Pacquaio's wins, let alone at 130 itself. Not only was Mayweather the first to beat him, but he put on an absolute masterclass and IMO it was his best performance. Corrales was not only on the pound for pound list for what he did at 130, but he also went on to have a hall of fame career.
What fighter has Pacquaio beaten that was great, in their prime and and was a natural super featherweight? Corrales has great wins over Derek ''smoke'' Gainer, (who was the first to beat Freddie Norwood), he was the first to beat the unbeaten favorite in Freitas( who was 35-0 and a multiple world champion). Corrales also had other good wins at super featherweight including Garry ST. Clair, Roberto Garcia, Angel Manfredy, Joel Casamayor and other brilliant fighters that was NATURAL super featherweights. Floyd also a had a good win over a prime Emanuel Agustas, who was much better than what his record indicated. Agustus was not world beater, however has always fought the best had very good wins of his own as well and had about 40 fights.
So, what great things did Barrera, Marquez or Morales accomplish over prime fighters after their losses to Marquez at super featherweight? Because i personally did see anything much. There were good wins that Barrrera had at super feather such as Robbie Peden( who was a good contender but was never more than a paper champion what i remember). That is no offense to him, but he has does not have that win over a prime elite fighter. Barrera at super feather also beat Morales and Juarez and that's mainly it as far as high quality wins. Morales went on to beat Pacquaio after Barrera and that was great win, but Juarez was never a champion and has lost all of his biggest fights. That is it for Barrera's accomplishments at 130, now lets take at what Morales did........
He had 8 fights there and was stopped 6 of those 8 times. He has good wins over Chavez and Carlos Hernandez, however that's it for high quality wins. Now lets take a look at what Marquez did at super featherweight.....
He beat Barrera( who was past his prime and many people believe that he lost) but take nothing away from him, because it was a great win over a fighter that was still champion, but was past his prime. Marquez defended his title one time against Juarez( who again was a good fighter but never champion, who also doesn't have any stand out wins).
What did any of these fighters do that was better than a prime Corrales or Genaro Hernandez? Not only were these natural featherweights, but they were also in their prime and was champions. Marquez, Morales and Barrera were all above their weight classes and past their prime. Good wins, although that they did stack to what Corrales or Hernandez did at 130.
Morales was'nt stopped 6 time whats this clown talking about? Get you're facts straight dudeComment

lol at people saying pac, it proves all you care for is names...........all the greats he fought at 130 were great....at 126-122 lbs.....
ayway your results are wrong, floyd stopped g.hernandez before the 12th.....and pac-marquez 1 was at 126....
floys beat an undefeated corrales(#5 p4p-unfairly, but w/e....), an undefeated at 130 g. hernandez(one loss to oscar) and prime versions of chavez-hernandez strong contenders at 130 fro many years....
pac lost his first fight at the weight vs a comig off a loss morales, beat a coming up 2 weight classes larios, beat a drained coming off an upset of the year loss morales, then rematched this shot morales, then rematched a fighter he had already beaten clearly in barrera, and then the controversial victory over marquez.....
mayweather is rightfully considered one of the best 130lb fighters in history..
Oh **** i just realized i put RTD 12 when it was RTD 8. typo on my behalf. Not sure what i was thinking there.Last edited by Texanballer; 10-18-2008, 09:11 AM.Comment

Why do some people always want to break up Floyd's career in sections? Of course they have both beat some great fighters at 130. But lets look at the entire career. Floyd has beat better fighters in their prime.
For example Diego & Hatton were both undefeated, in their 20s, & ranked in the top 10 P4P before they were KOd by Floyd. Manny as great as he is can't say anything like that. We will really find out about Manny compared to Floyd in December when he fights Oscar.Comment
