my friends dad would always throw a party when the big fights used to be on national TV in the early 80's. so i was influenced by watching the mega fights of that era. then my friends and i would box in the front yard for fun. it end up like a tournament with all the neighborhood kids. that lasted for a few weeks, but after that all settled we would box to settle our differences.

i was like a little chris byrd and no one wanted to fight me because they couldn't hit me. even the older kids were like, " he doesn't stand still, he's always moving he fights on the move." that pissed a lot of people off, but everyone was bigger than me so i had no choice but to give a little shake and bake.
and from then on i always watched boxing.

but not till i was 11 or 12 is when i started to follow boxing and learning all that i could about the sport.

i moved to vegas from long beach at 17yrs old and got to check out all sorts of gyms out here when i first moved and got to really know things inside the ring and out. i also got to see the business side at a young age and i found out then that most of the fighting and some of the harder fighting was done on the outside of the ring instead of inside.

now i'm totally obsessed. i'm just lucky that i can write about it and have two outlets for my opinions about boxing here at boxingscene.com and docsports.com/boxing............

history in the making, one day at a time.................

My first real boxing experience was Ricardo Mayorga KO 3 Vernon Forrest, but watching the brillance of Roy Jones Jr. made me a hardcore fan.

That is my first boxing match I ever seen it was about 1 1/2 year ago.

Here is something funny and a bit embarssing. I got hooked into boxing by watching a japanese anime " Hajime Ippo" about a school kid who got bullied turned to pro. There was few episode that i seen and got love with the anime and the i couldnt find any anime so a started reading the manga til i they was any update in that site. I wanted more of this stuff so i started seening real boxing and downloading boxing video.
