im 23. Old tape of tyson destroying tomato cans pretty much what made me realize how tough boxing is, and that it's no joke. before that I seriously didnt even think boxing was fun to watch, it looked like a ****** sport to me as a child. people hitting each other with pillows, big deal right? then mcclellan fought benn and when I saw what happened to g-man, i was shocked and realized just how risky the sport is, and that these guys are putting it all on the line here, this is some real ****. from there on, I was hooked

In the early 80's, my uncle was a huge Tyson fan,I was about 7.He use to watch over me when my parents went to work, he forced me to watch. After awhile I just started to love seeing it and now I'm as much, if not more, of a boxing fan than him!

You got into boxing because you had a love affair with *******?

You got into boxing because you were legally dead 6 seperate times?

You got into boxing because you fell in love with Johnny Tapia?

I have to say the first fight I remember watching that made me really like Boxing was Hagler/Leonard in 87.I was like 10 and my dad took me to some place where we watched it on the big screen in like some sort of auditorium......watch Wrestlemania III there too but anyway I was pissed at the result..... being from Boston I was brought up to be a Hagler fan but the sheer emotion and everything that boxing brings had me.I did not keep up with it as much as I would have like but started seriously watching every fight I could get my hands on around 98 and 99 and have been since.

Keep adding reasons and you might hit the nail on the head.

I was a kid, Maybe around 8 or 9, I forgot, and the first fight I saw was Spinks vs. Homes. Everyone was rooting for Homes and I was the only guy that rooted for Spinks to be different. Spinks was my favorite from then on, when everyone was talking Tyson, I said Spinks was better. I watched hagler vs. hearns and Hagler and Marvin became another favorite. I was sad when both of these fighters lost.
