Prime Reggie Johnson was no joke as mentioned before.
Toney was always inconsistent. I don't think this is the performance you should go by to determine who would win in a fight between Toney and Calzaghe just as you should not only look at Calzaghe's performances against Reid, Mitchell or Hopkins to make up your mind about how Calzaghe would do against Toney.
Toney handled Tim Littles and Nunn's speed just fine, against Roy Jones he was not in appropriate condition to fight against one of the fastest fighters of all time. Jones is a bad match-up for Toney either way.
He was out of stamina after throwing 300 punches against Jones when in his previous bouts he had landed 400 on some of his opponents without any problems.Last edited by TheGreatA; 10-16-2008, 09:08 AM.Comment

Speaking of 400 punches, Toney is one of only three boxers to land that many punches in a fight...and he's done it four times.Comment

Joe doesn't have the power to keep Richard Simmons honest.
If Joe had the goods to beat a Prime JT he sure as hell didn't do **** in the ring to PROVE it.
You're a ***** for trying to hype that joke of a "fighter".Comment

Calzaghe actaully called out Toney after the Jeff Lacy fight. Toney of course predicted that Lacy would "destroy dat white boi".Comment

If it were a Prime Calzaghe that used straigh punching and had a powerful left hook combined with his workrate I think he would have beaten Toney at 168. I don't think he would hurt him but he'd have enough sting in his jab to keep Toney at distance and then jump inside where he works best.Comment
