I think Dawson should stay and establish himself as the no. 1 at LHW. Eventually some big guns from 168 will move up and they'll come looking for the top guy. I wouldn't bet on it being any other than Chad.

Still Dawson could try to get a fight with one of the german based champions (Erdei or Garay). In Germany the money is big. Felix Sturm got a whopping 1.1 million euros for defending against a japanese no-hoper.

John do you think Chad considers travelling to Germany for a fight?

Back in either 2006 I think it was they were going to have Chad go to Germany and fight Stipe Drews for the vacant WBA title and they asked me if I would train him again (he was in the process of leaving Dan Birmigham) and make the trip with him...he wanted to go, was ready to go, but then the fight fell through and I never touched base with them again about it...he's a much bigger name now, though, and unless the guy is a bigger star than him I would think they would let whoever it is come to him here in Vegas...

I doubt that you could lure any of them outside Germany unless the purse is very significant and I doubt Chad can generate that kind of money. If Chad want's to make a big purse he could get it by pursuing Erdei/Garay for a fight in Germany. Personally I would hope for him to fight Erdei thereby giving the linear title some needed expose.

Yea, it sucks in a way for him because as talented as he is I dont know if he will be able to reach that Roy Jones type or realm...Roy beat Toney and Hopkins on the way up...Chad doesnt have that type of guy around at the moment...people think Hops woul dbe this big fight for him but he's 44 and, putting it in perspective, Roy beat Hops SIXTEEN YEARS ago

my kid Joey "Chip" Perez turned professional here last night and won a deicison in a THRILLING fight..man, usually a pro debut kid gets a fight he definitely supposed to win,kind of a pass on the first one but they did my kid no favors lastnight, he was in a tough fight and won beautifully...as for Chad, he fights Johnson here in Hartford in their rematch in early November..they had the press conference the other day...the usual words were said, etc...waiting to see the undercard lineup...

Rocky was a tall guy, good overall skills. Not a huge puncher or a very very slick boxer but he had good boxing skills and a good jab, very steady in his approach and was a strong man. I honestly, 100 percent,feel that if we were to have a rematch I could have beaten him...although the local German judges didnt have our fight close I felt that every round was close and that if I let loose a bit more I could have (would have maybe) beaten him...I don't, can't, take anything from him, though, he was a good fighter, a world champion after all, and he beat me fair and square. It's just that sometimes after the fact you realize certain things you could have or should have done and would do if u got another chance...

The first Maske fight was VERY CLOSE...Henry really had to dig down..he might be the only guy to really visibly ever hurt Henry (twice I think)...when I fought Rocky, based on that, I thought he was going to be a very hard puncher...maybe I just take a good punch but I didnt find him to really hit THAT hard...he maybe just caught Henry very squarely...The DM fight, what happened again? Something unsual as I remember...he originally KO'd DM right?

Refresh my memory...I do remember that I thought Rocky really blasted him...

With DM the first time he wasbating him easy and then in the 7th he landed a punch after the break,did not seem that hard and DM acted(or was indeed hurt) in a way that he felld down,WAS COUNTED,beat the count at 8,fell down again and everybody just went i nthe ring and the fight s was stopped.Originally a Technical Draw,overuled as a DQ W for DM.
Myself and most thought DM acted like for the Oscars,looked extremely fake,it's up on youtube.

Same here. I used to like DM, but his behaviour in that fight was shameful.
