Also what do you think about the Margarito ''plaster'' situation?
Let's see...from amateur and pro I have been in touch with many guys...Darin Allen...Lamar "Kidfire" Parks...Michael Nunn (he corresponded with me from jail believe it or not)...Melvin "Top Gun" Foster...a few others...as far as Margarito, most people have thrown him under the bus and what he did was TERRIBLE...but the fact is that no one knows for sure by any stretch if he ever did that before...if they ever got away with it before..Cotto fans have latched onto it and all but there's no way to know...

hahaha....My dad had me in the gym as a youngster, but he eventually steered me away and had me in other sports. However, when I turned 6 I started football and loved it. Play all throughout little league, and in high school. had a good high school career. I was offered a scholarship to play ball at Northern Illinois University as a Running Back. However, about a week or so later they called me and told me that they had just picked up a transfer RB from ******a Tech I believe. So I lost interest in them, then I walked on at Eastern Illinois University. They told me if I performed well enough that I would get a scholarship and that I could play the position that I wanted, running back. BTW, my first year there was actually Tony Romo's senior year at Eastern Illlinois, so it was awesome getting to know Tony and to play with him for a year. That next spring, I received a FULL scholarship! Check out this link about my story as a football player John..

          • Mr. Scully,

Breakdown Floyd Jr for me, outside of his god-given ability with having great vision, speed, reactionary speed, strong work-ethic and technical superiority.

I'm not really quite sure when they say that he's a highly intelligent fighter, what exactly is it that makes him intelligent?

I mean, Floyd is often praised for his elusiveness, now, I would think that comes from having great vision and god-given reflexes , again those attributes would be considered under "natural instincts". So what makes Floyd an intelligent fighter?

can you please elaborate , show examples from fights of his that's considered an intelligent thing rather than an instinctual thing.

            Thanks

I agree that Floyd is a very intelligent boxer...I mean, why cant a guy who has great reflexes also be smart. It's the same thing with Roy Jones. RJ is one of the most intelligent boxers ever. The term "he's a natural" is very misleading...just because a guy is fluid and smooth and has great reflexes it still doesnt mean that he knows how to fight without being taught how to properly do so...there are plenty of guys who are physically gifted as Floyd and RJ are but they cannot do the things they do in the ring because they don't have the actual skills and teaching to do so...it's like in baseball when a guy is a monster homerun hitter...sometimes people forget -or do not even realize- that he may actually be a very smart base runner too...Floyd Mayweather is very intelligent as a boxer because his feet are almost always in the perfect position, he knows which way to go when his opponents feet are in a certain position, he knows what punches to throw at the right times, he knows how to position himself and his opponent so that his shots (and not theirs) inflict the most damage...boxing is an art and Floyd has a masterful brush, my man...."natural ability" and reflexes alone do not bring you to the heights he has risen to...

2)he knows how to position himself and his opponent so that his shots (and not theirs) inflict the most damage
                      .

3)because his feet are almost always in the perfect position

Can you explain it to us , as if you were teaching a class.

As far as the feet being in the right position, is it kind of like, how when a southpaw has to have his lead foot outside of the right-handed fighter's lead foot?
