He hurt him badly in the 8th round with that same punch

He was knocked out by the next Mayweather hook and it was just a matter of time, unless you think Mayweather would go the entire round without landing another punch.
except it wasn't a bearhug, their arms had become locked. Cortez should've broke it up at that point but he didn't. When they got to the corner they had freed up and punches were able to be thrown and Cortez broke it up TOO LATE.

and no, it wouldn't have mattered. Hatton absorbed too many punches from earlier needless breakups by Cortez which were much worse than this one.

the only good shots Mayweather was getting in were the ones immediately after the ref breaking them up because Hatton would jump in

if the ref didn't keep breaking them up for absolutely nothing, Hatton wouldn't have gotten hit half as much and would've been fresh for the later rounds
Yeah except that it's boxing not MMA/Wrestling

I think the 8th was more of an accumulation of punches. Actually unbelievable how Ricky stayed on his feet in that round.

Tell that to Floyd. He was initiating a lot of the clinching and being very dirty inside.

The punch landed hard, it was audible. Hatton was leading with all of his weight.

Might be somewhat accurate in this fight, but the last thing Hatton fans should ever do is complain about initiating clinching and being dirty inside.

I complain about it whoever is fighting. It wouldve been nice if Mr Cortez shared the same view.
