Terrible fight.

I'm assuming this thread is a troll. But, while the fight was one-sided it was far from boring. If anything the destruction of Peter could be seen as boring, although I enjoyed that too.

I thought both fights were boring. I dont enjoy one sided fights.

Tarver wasnt fighting bad at all. he was actually throwing more than usual, and had moments when he was throwing some nice combinations...even landed a fair amount of left hands, most noticably straight lefts and uppercuts.

I mean...it was a million times better performance than against Hopkins.

Really, I thought this was a good fight

Compared to the Clinton Woods fight Tarver looked terrible though. I know Woods wasn't on form, but still...

this is surprising.

Dawson had a lot of his shots blocked, but he did land a fair amount of punches, and was digging to the body very hard at moments.

It was much better than I expected...

He was not landing nearly as many punches at the Showtime crew was trying to make it seem like.

I actually believe that Dawson doesn't even try and land punches. He aims for gloves, and he hits gloves. His punches are fast, and they make lots of noise, but he isn't putting much mustard behind them.

Even the majority of his body shots were blocked. He tries so hard to make his punches look flashy that Tarver had all the time in the world to block them.

He needs to shorten up his punches, have go for the kill. If he keeps fighting like he does, I am going to stop tuning in for his fights.

At least with guys like Cory Spinks, you can appreciate that he can't punch, and that's why he fights like a *****, but Dawson can punch, but for some reason he chooses not too.

I liked the Klit fight. I can appreciate the skill he was using and the tactical brilliance he used.

Dawson covered up, then punched in spurts. There really is no skill involved in covering up. None. You can take any monkey off the street, and teach them cover up like that.

Dawson is a better fighter than that. Watching a fighter fight below their ability is the most frustrating thing in the universe.

i seen it in a slightly different light. and say that dawson showed that loudmouth too much respect.

i thought chad was saving up for a 10th round and on assault.
tarvers legs were gone and arms were weary. so tired he was just pitter pattering away.
dawson let him get off the hook!
but it was a saver ud.
this fight makes me question dawson killing instincts!

Tarver had no answer for anything, whether those punches were all connecting or not. The point seemed to be to stay busy enough to get Tarver to stay in a shell, which he did for most of the fight. It worked and got Chad the win.

There's no way he was KOing Tarver, a guy who's barely been knocked down in his entire career, so the obvious strategy is to outpoint him with sheer work rate. Nothing wrong with that.

Much better fight than Tarver - Woods and that was in April. So that should get your vote for worst fight,lol.
