Tarver - Dawson, worst fight of the year.
In my book, Dawson's stock just fell considerably. If Chad Dawson continues fighting like he did tonight, he will shed fans very very quickly.
He took the worst of Sven Ottke, and combined it with the worst of Cory Spinks.
He did not try and hurt Tarver, he didn't try and land punches, he just threw flashy combinations in spurts off the ropes.
It was really frustrating watching him fight. Even though I was rooting for him because Tarver is the biggest douchebag in the universe, I was starting to root for Tarver half way through because of the way Dawson was fighting.
Dancing along the ropes in a turtle shell doesn't fly in my book, and if you are going to do it, at least do it like Abraham, and knock people the **** out.
Dawson is the new Cory Spinks in my book.
Tarver was horrible too, although I gained some respect for him when he tried to pull it out in the end. He fought a ****** fight for most of the fight. He didn't throw many punches, and most of the punches he threw were love taps. He looked lethargic, and old.
The only real punches I saw land were a few jabs from Dawson. Most of the fight was Tarver and Dawson taking turns beating on each others arms.
Overall, Tarver is still a flash in the pan that never deserved a rematch with Roy. He never deserved the first fight with Roy. He didn't deserve his win over Glen Johnson, and that is something he shares with Chad Dawson.
If Dawson doesn't give Glen a rematch after this, I am going to lose alot of repect for him.
Overall I feel sorry for Ree****yaluss for flying to Las Vegas to see the fight. Hopefully the undercard was good.
