    WHAT!

So what's the answer, to just stand there and be hit? It's boxing man -- hit and not be hit. Jeez. You have to cover up and attack when the opportunity presents itself, it's boxing basics dude.

There's no way he was KOing Tarver, a guy who's barely been knocked down in his entire career, so the obvious strategy is to outpoint him with sheer work rate. Nothing wrong with that.
Yes there is. All this talk of "punishing" Tarver, and he goes out there and flurries at his arms. Fans don't like that.

Muhammad Ali said he was going to punish Ernie Terrell, and that is exactly what he did.

If you say you are going to punish a man, punish him. If you don't even try to punish him, that makes you a liar.

          I don't like liars.

Exactly, hit and not get hit. The hitting comes first. That is the part Dawson forgot to do. He didn't try and land punches. He threw at Tarvers gloves, he didn't try and get Tarver out of there, he didn't try and hit Tarver.

I liked this fight a lot. I thought Dawson looked great, Tarver looked old.

Dawson is a better fighter than that. Watching a fighter fight below their ability is the most frustrating thing in the universe.
I agree with you on the Klitschko fight. The man followed through on a well thought out plan and it worked to perfection.

The reason I enjoyed the Dawson-Tarver fight wasn't so much for what went on in the ring, but because of the storyline. Tarver is a loudmouthed bully, and Dawson put him in his place. I didn't like that he took those two rounds off in the middle of the fight. If he kept the pressure up he could have potentially gotten a serious down on Tarver. Instead, he seemed content just to win the fight, and humiliate Tarver by a lopsided decision, though IMO nothing says humiliation likes a KO on a trashtalker.

I'm sorry man. If I was having a conversation with anyone who said this to me I would say "you don't know what the f it is you're talking about".

No disrespect intended, but I have better things to do than discuss this, so let's just agree to disagree.

For me that was a highlight. Blatantly conserve energy AND get inside the opponents head simultaneously? Pretty damn smart if you ask me. Chad toyed with Tarver, and the break he took in the middle was the icing on the cake.
