I cant believe that I have seen Glen Johnson and Joshua Clottey listed as gatekeepers. Some of you guys are total idiots.

Mustafa Hamsho is the greatest example of being a gatekeeper because he fought at the time when Hagler fought. The guy could have held a title if only Hagler wasn't there.

          Right now it's Rocky Juarez.
I didn't realize that if you won a title you weren't eligible to be a gate keeper.

Earnie Shavers might be considered a good gate keeper.

I'm unclear on what the definition of a gatekeeper is I guess. I didn't think that just because a fighter won a title one time that they wouldn't be able to be considered a gatekeeper.

As for the bold, knep dig selv.

Why can't "ex-champs" be labeled "gatekeepers?" Mayorga and Forbes are surely two of today's best gatekeepers.

I don't think this affects your eligibility....

Glen Johnson just finished a fight with Dawson which a lot of people thought he won. Dawson is top 3 at the weight so Johnson is no gatekeeper.

Clottey just beat up a gatekeeper (Judah) and the difference in class was clear throughout the fight. Clottey is a step or two above Zab and the other gatekeepers listed.

                      Open question for anyone:

What qualification makes you a "gatekeeper"?

I'm just curious to see what you guys consider a gatekeeper...IMO I think a gatekeeper is good enough to win a championship but kinda always fall short on the big stage..A gatekeeper pushes you to the limit and make you work and can boost your stock. (just my opnion on a gatekeeper)
