Taylor split the guard quite a bit in his fight with Wright... Abraham hits harder, and will likely have more luck splitting the guard. This fight will not be easy by any means for Wright.

its one to read up on... NOT watch.

We watch boxing always for the excitement of the possibility of a knock down, or better yet knock OUT... you take that factor out and it becomes chess... only the veryyyy few hardcore boxing fans enjoy chess matches in the ring.
There was only one knockdown in the 36 rounds of Barrera-Morales, and no one bitched about those fights...

This fight could be pretty entertaining... Taylor-Wright was, even without a knockdown either way, right?

          i completely get you bro...

but goin in, did you have an idea in your head that it would almost certainly go the distance... and had you known that, would you have the same anticipation and excitement for the fight?? probably not.

im just sayin that no matter what... you just want that little hope of some crazy excitement of a KD or KO... when you are almost certain it wont happen, kinda becomes lame.

AA doesn't have nearly the workrate of Taylor. Neither does he throw straight punches like Taylor. Trust...This is a win for Winky. He'll win based on workrate.

I ****ing hate fans who can't operate in terms of reality when it comes to their man. Really, anyone who says this fight is a walk in the park for Wright is insane.

I actually disagree. If a KO comes before the 10th round, I'm usually irritated, because I feel like I missed out on a lot of good work to be done (unless one of my favorites sparks someone, like Lopez did to Figueroa last Saturday). I think any fighters that can go in and brutally attack each other will set up a great match, regardless of whether their power and chin factors crush the chance of a knockout or not.

It's not particularly good for Wright if he doesn't throw straight punches. Rewatch the Angel Hernandez fight and tell me how many looping and hooking punches got around the Wright guard.

Keep in mind that it takes more than one landed Wright punch to equal one Abraham landed punch, because... after all, Abraham punches sooooo much harder, and judges factor that in.

Sweet! A question I can answer correctly.

                    Vargas
                    McKart III
                    Mosley I
                    Mosley II
                    Trinidad
Soliman (for the commentary alone, hilarious)
                    Taylor
                    Quartey

                    Those are my favorites.

If you want to see the vulnerabilities that Wright has:
                    Vargas (giving rounds away)
Angel Hernandez/Soliman (unorthodox punches get around the guard)
Taylor (punches splitting the guard/giving rounds away)
                    Hopkins (timing beats the guard)

I like AA big if this fight happens. Winky will have a LOT going against him. I'm always amazed at how many boxing fans think that time stands still for fighters.
