You are a pretty good poster and that's why i honestly believe you are joking. Jones doesn't have the killer ability. He doesn't move in for the kill because he can only fight in small bursts with an high reload time now.
That's why Calzaghe is fighting him and that's why he'll be someone else's stepping stone after that. When i saw his last 2 matches i already knew Joe Calzaghe was trying to get a fight with him, that's how well i know the chain of thought of today's boxing. It's not about fighting the best so we know who's the best, that's the definition of boxing as a sport, which is NOT what we have here. It's all about the money and if you can maintain your aura of invincibility while doing so, the better. When oldies like Bernard and Jones start dying in the ring as it will eventually happen as more and more 40 year olds venture into the rings, then it will come to an halt.
Sorry bout the rant but i'm so disappointed with boxing. I didn't even stay up for Mosley last weekend nor did i care allot about knowing the outcome. I started caring less and less about these old folks and i haven't paid for a boxing event for 2 years... I find good quality competition in MMA, K1 where the best really face the best... Please Youtube last 8 K1 max finals and see ANY of the fights. There are so evenly matched and they are really the best in the world. None of them is over 30. They come from ALL OVER the world and this year finals was Masato vs Kysenko. Amazing fight. Those guys remind me of the WW division a couple years ago when everyone was hot and fights were happening, right before old bags like Mosley and Hoya got in there.

Keep in mind both those guys already were in a match THAT SAME NIGHT! Masato has even been KD in his bout to reach the final. Sorry but i could only find these in brazilian commentary.

That's what he said years ago when he still had his amazing speed and still could throw punches in bunches.

Calzaghe is fighting Jones for the money, as he himself said, it's all about the money now, whoever brings him the most money is the fight he takes.

The best not fighting the best in boxing is one big problem but it has improved a bit from a couple of years ago, I just hope the fighters keep it up.

I like MMA, I watch when there's nothing too interesting on boxing but I'll always choose boxing over MMA unless boxing becomes utterly unwatchable which I don't think will happen.

Also check some of the K1 max fights, these guys have decent boxing skills, triple uppercuts, faints, body hooks and well, they are really the best of the best RIGHT NOW. They don't get megafights in 08 for being the best in 95, they are sorted EVERY YEAR through elimination tournaments, so rest asured, injuries apart, (which didn't happen in k1 max as far as i can remember) the guys fighting in the finals are really the best in the world.

But Listen to this, no Bull ****, I met Nigel years later at my local Nightclub where he was DJ'ing and got talking boxing to him for a bit.
I mentioned that it was a pitty a Jones fight never came off and do u know what he said? "Na im glad he'd have killed me!"
And he was serious, he added he woulda fought anybody but now knew that Jones was on another level. Jones hadnt lost to Tarver at this point by the way. Very Honest i was impressed
i think Toney would of beat Benn worse than Roy TBH

UFC has the best MMA fighters in the world IMO, I like K1 fights though.

K1 is kickboxing. No hugging there. Anyone interested youtube the best fighters: Masato, Sato (japan), Buakaw Por Pramuk (thailand), Andy Sower, Albert Kraus (netherlands), Gago Drago (armenia), Kyshenko (ukraine). These are all very fast, fit and exciting fighters who don't get there because of their names, rather their accomplishments ON THE CURRENT YEAR, not some 10 years ago.

Benn said this in 1996 when he asked for $10m to fight Jones. He said he knew he'd lose and just go out swinging. This was after the McClellan fight where he'd clearly lost his desire
