That's true, he was perhaps more dangerous when he was a bit buzzed like he was against Barkley and Logan, he would always punch back with everything he had unless he was in serious, serious trouble like he was against Watson and Eubank in their first fight, and yes, Jones was always cautious about getting hit even when going for the knockout, he was just more willing to open himself up a bit more back then.

Did u see Jones vs Hanshaw? 11th round Roy has em down and hurt quite bad, Hanshaw gets up and Jones dont throw a punch for like 20 - 30 seconds! Where was the old Killer Instinct!?

I have heard that benn was glad in the end the fight didnt come off. I think Benn would of gave jones a good fight but jones in the 90's would of beat benn on points. The only way benn would of won is if he unleashed one of his bombs. But i do regard benn as a great fighter.

Yeah, Jones doesn't want to knock opponents out anymore, I think he says it's because he doesn't want to give his opponents permanent damage so he backs off most of the time now.

Benn is a great fighter for sure, Roy is just all wrong for him tho.

Yeah he was tight with G Man wasnt he, is it true that he refuses to visit untill his career is over? He has done alot for Gerald cash wise, i know that much.

Vernon Forrest said the best fight he ever saw was Roy vs Gerald in the amatures!

Tell u what tho, Roy for all his good intensions might be doing more harm with hurting a guy, letting him off the hook and just continuously tagging him for the rest of the fight as opposed to **** **** **** fight over, see the medics u know

That's what he says, he won't visit McClellan until his career is over.

Iceman John Scully says it's one of the best fights he's seen in the amateurs as well, McClellan couldn't spar for a month after that fight because of how painful his jaw was after that match.

I know, that's what I said a couple of months ago when this subject was brought up, repeated blows to the brain do more harm in the long run than one single knockout blow most of the time.

Personally i think Eubank gives Roy more trouble than Benn but still gets Owned

Collins gets slaughtered and Watson gets beat up too

Stylistically, Eubank is awkward enough to give Jones trouble ala Montell Griffin but Jones would still win a clear decision.

I agree, the others would have lost as well.

In the last 20 years, I think Herol Graham would have Jones the most trouble out of all the British fighters, a slick southpaw fighter, Jones doesn't really like southpaws and Graham was one awkward guy to fight.

                      Hmmm Good call, good call!

Jones to his credit took on like 7 or 8 Southpaws in Light Heavy title defences, 5 or 6 of those on the bounce if i remember right tho.
Then when he returned he fought Tarver, and won.
That surely aint been done before?
