"Kessler is better than Pavlik!"

I'd like to see Kessler vs. Taylor on HBO early next year, assuming they each win their upcoming fights.

A good way to compare Kessler to Pavlik, is to see how well he does against Taylor.

What do you think would happen? I think it would be a Kessler UD. He wouldn't go looking for the KO like Kelly does.

maybe so, but pavlik was 22 yrs old 4 years ago, and far more green than he is now! the comparison is not all that current imo, but whatever. he's the mw champion of the world, and beat the man. kessler as good as he may be, lost! don't care if joe is thought of to be so much better than taylor, and since they have not ever fought one another it can not be said for sure, and it is what it is. pavlik took the titles, and kessler blew his shot at the big time. one rose up, one sank. until kessler proves he can win the big fight he is stuck in a patrick ewing role imo. great player, but could never get over the top hump to win the title. i will be the first to give kessler his props if he beats kelly or the like, but until that happens i am sick of everyone trying to act like this guys is the top dog just because he fought, and LOST to calzaghe!

How can you favour Taylor? It vexes me. I see he has a good jab, so I can see that he has the potential to be a bad style matchup for Mikkel, but he simply does not use it consistently and he gasses out too. I think Kessler moves further away from him the longer the fight goes on.

Indeed it may be said that Calzaghe is better than Taylor, because he is. Much better.

MY prediction would be Kessler UD, and not as close as Pavlik vs. Taylor II.

I just hope Kessler gets back to fighting at his best so matchups with Taylor or Pavlik will be better. Kelly and Jermain looked better in their last outing from the prior, and I can't say Kessler has improved each time out from Andrade to Calzaghe to Sartison.
