I think its pretty debateable that Taylor looked better, in fact I don't think he did. Calzaghe was not able to impress against Hopkins, he was stopped from doing what he wanted, but at no point did Hopkins ever really have the better of it, (yes, yes Joe got KD'd I know, it was flash and Joe was off balance) Calzaghe was the one forcing the fight. Taylor was getting smacked all around the ring by Hopkins towards the end of both fights, and like Calzaghe was not impressive before this.

Beyond that, I think its pretty obvious Calzaghe is the better fighter, he's more skilled, versatile, probably faster in his prime, better chin etc etc.

I just think Kessler stops both Pavlik and Taylor. Taylor has the better chance, if and if, hes confident.

I do think these MW's such as Pavlik and Taylor are still not the elite of SMW. The big guys of the division will continue to be Kessler, Bute and Mundine for the years to come. This may shock a lot of Americans.

Calzaghe looked better in the later rounds against Hopkins, than Taylor did.

He seemed awestruck and out of his element in the early rounds, fighting in the US for the first time in the bright lights of Las Vegas. But he adjusted and got into the flow - the second half of the fight wasn't close.

it is not obvious to me. any man who beat bhop twice is not inferior to a man who's best win is against a 43 yr old bhop. is joe better than taylor, sure, alot? nah!
