never seen the watson fight. but i heard nigel benn threw that fight.

i've seen a few benn fights and some eubank. i liked benn a lot. (that's a shocker considering the style of fighters i like. ) but i've seen very little of steve and michael. i'm a dumb yank remember?

i know about the eubank-watson tragedy but never saw the whole fight. why was there no doctors at the fight btw?

don't know much about collins except he's a tough sob and he ducked calzaghe.

I may upload some of those for you Tua because those Watson fights are terrific. As for the doctors thing, I don't know, surely there must have been some doctors there, but Eubank Watson II was the fight (along with Benn McClellan) that caused serious questions to be asked about the safety of boxing in the UK, and saw a much stricter approach to safety after that.

Also, Watson was not unconcious on the canvas Roy Jones style , he was still talking and walking, so maybe the injury was overlooked at first.

yea but his weight class was garbage though, so when he changes weight divisions and fights 43 year olds he pretty much loses and looks aweful.

The best in Calzaghes division was bums pretty much. Which is why I think he stayed there.

Let me say this- I dislike both these two guys and always tend to support their opponents.

However, even though Floyd's cherry picking of opponents based purely on money is just so frustrating, even if he had fought the real credible forces, he would have beat them.

Kosta Tzyou, Cotto, (a younger) Mosley, Margarito etc...he would beat them all, IMHO.

Whereas I'm fairly certain that had Joe run into a younger Hopkins or RJJ, they would have schooled him. I'd favour Pavlik over him too. Which is why there are always going to be question marks over Joe's career and talents, for me anyway.

Whereas Floyd...whatever you say about the people he ducked - can you also honestly say these fighters would have beaten him?
Even as a Calzaghe fan I agree with some of that I do think Floyds unbeaten resume is better and a younger RJJ or Hops may have beaten him, certainly you would have to go with RJJ.

But you have to say this about Calzaghe he could have easily lost or indeed was an underdog for fights like, Eubank, Kessler, Lacy and yet on the night he never looked like losing in any of them he rose to his best which would've made any boxer near his weightclass struggle with a Calzaghe like that.....even fights like Shieka, Brewer and Mitchell, now much lamneted victories at the time they were still considered good opponents, maybe not elite but a lot of great fighters have slipped up against lower class opposition.

This will never happen with Joe, he is a true winner, he just doesn't lose, even if he's fightin bad he finds a way, a lot of other boxers including great ones struggle with that! That sheer will power and determination would be a true threat against any of those guys you mentioned.

not all these fighters floyd supposedly ducked wanted to fight floyd.. i never heard miguel cotto call out floyd.. cotto lets his manager and promoter pick his fights.. i never heard mosley call out floyd until he became the main attraction of the sport.. mosley had to heal his toothache.. i never heard kostya or a casamayor, etc call out floyd.. floyd on numerous occasions has mentioned fighting these fighters.. it takes 2.. the only reason they may want to fight floyd is because they know it will bring in tons of money.. no one was trying to fight him a few years back especially when he wasnt the huge star he is today.. they already knew they would more than likely lose and didnt want to take the risk..

Why are parents of gayweather fans so dumb?

I wish those dumb parents teach their children TALK IS CHEAP.

And yeah... gayweather admitted he's a coward and pissed on his pants.

No amount of excuses can overturn that.

Joe Calzaghe has the Manny Pacqiaou effect on his weightclass, just disturbing the older fighters. And Mayweather bored the hell out of us by fighting rediculous fights.

I still can't believe that Mayweather ignored Cotto when Cotto was hot...

But that ultimately sums up boxing. No matter how even a fight is, the best decision is to ignore it and fight some old legend.

Which is why MMA will eventually take over.

Then why do you praise JMM's win over a 33 year old Barrera and 37 year old Casamayor like it's some sort of badass history in the making?

Why don't you just say you're a Mexican bias donkey?
