While on subject, the Middleweight division is weak and Abraham's record is just a reflection of the state of the division. I mean Pavlik's record is not much better except for Taylor.
On that note:
Miranda is not as bad as many here claim. Sure he has limitations, but he looked lifeless in Abraham 2 even before he got hurt.
Everyone was claiming Miranda was so ripped before the fight. Yes he was, but he was sickly and dehydrated. I mean look at his face in them.
Miranda simply needs new trainers. It is probably too late for him now, but he needs to stop the damn weight training.

Here he is before the Pavlik fight also. In both photos he looks weight drained.

Not making excuses for him, but something just is not right with that guy and maybe he does belong at Lt. Heavy.Comment

Talking about padded records in this way presupposes that there are large numbers of 'elite' boxers to fight and that that it is always possible to fight them. The reality is that most boxers 'prove' themselves by beating 'the best of the rest' in their division and then if they are lucky go on to bigger fights against fellow standout performers, but it is not fair to label every victory against mid-level opposition as padding or meaningless. These type of opponents are very often ranked in the top ten or twenty of their division, but get labelled as bums because they aren't a big name. There simply aren't enough titles to make every boxer a supposed 'elite', so we should be hesitant before dismissing mid-level guys. If we did that then no boxer would ever have an impressive record.Last edited by Skunk; 09-29-2008, 01:50 PM.Comment
