barrett is a much higher ranked opponent than what i expected haye to take on first fight.
barretts style fits good for haye.
but haye gets hit too much. and barrett has genuine hvwt power.
this isnt going to be an easy one for haye.
would rather of seen him go up against kingpin johnson.

Monte is a good first test for Haye here at the Hw devision, Monte does have power himself so it should be interesting but i thinkHaye knocks him out early

I am glad a fight got set!

Barrett isn't a bad fighter, he is a good gatekeeper. A solid oppenent for Hayes first Heavyweight fight IMO. I just hope he fights Chambers next, as I have said a few times.

Ahh my two favourite Heavys! Haye is the man im rootin for tho, its a dangerous fight but i think Haye can look Explosive out there and bag a 3rd round KO!
Monte can **** tho and Hayes chin is questionable at best so theres the chance of the upset, plus Barret has balls and he WILL let his hands go.
But he's too wide open for a Straight punching Bomber with the speed that Haye has, i predict he gets squashed in 3!

Good match too coz Barret is basically the gatekeeper and has exposed a few good fighters, we shall see what Haye is made of!

I agree. this will be haye's toughest test to date. I hope haye doesn't think he could get away with lapses in defense like he did at cruiserweight cuz he could very well get ktfo'd.

I think, and dearly hope, that Haye has worked on his defense for his move up to heavyweight.

Because Barrett is the ideal gatekeeper, this fight will enable us to determine whether Haye is a bona fide potential heavyweight champion of if he's just a pretender.

                Good posts Tunney!

Really? Why are you disappointed? Who do you think he should have fought instead? I think this is a pretty good test for him..

I think Silencers, like me, expected/hoped for a fight with Chambers. When the news came that he would fight either Barrett or Chambers I hoped he would fight the better, Chambers. But he fought Barrett, which is a little letdown.

But it's a solid test for his first fight at heavyweight, and will tell us more than the Bonin fight ever could.

If the fight is close, I don't see Wlad even looking in his direction because he can still get a big payday in Germany...if US folks don't get high on Haye, and fans don't immediately view him as legitimate, it's going to take a number of fights for David to climb the ladder...

As washed up as Barrett is - and even in his prime he was the most inconsistent fighter at HW - I much rather prefer this to a Kevin Johnson or the other jokester that was thrown around. No doubt Barrett will be hyped up for this.

If Haye knocks this guy out clean, Wlad is going to have to start answering some questions. I mean, let's be honest, it's not like he's stopping world beaters either.
