Barret is terrible. I think I remember Haye dismissing a fight with Barret during an interview on Setanta. Saying Barrett was B-Level and essentially that Barrett was in no way a worthy opponent.

Monte Barrett is a better opponent than Mercer and Chapman, not a bad starting opponent for Haye. If he gets past Monte, hopefully he'll fight Dimitrenko in a WBO eliminator in the spring.

He's the logical choice, since he's been KOed in the past, while Chambers has not. I think Monte has a chance of winning, and should at least give Haye a good fight.

Go Monte! Shut the loud mouth Haye up.

Boxingscene shouldn't report this story until the fight is a done deal....

Straight after Barrett beat Fields, Setanta's Steve Bunce was talking about Barrett as a possible opponent for Haye. He said he felt that against Fields, Barrett looked the most motivated and in shape he had been for years and that if Haye chose him as an opponent then if Monte kept the same motivation it would be a vey dangerous fight for Haye. He said it was the same with any of the aging HWs, that because they're not the best fighters ever doesn't make them terrible and that a motivated true HW would be a real risk to a relatively chinny ex-Cruiser like Haye.

I was have to admitt I was hoping for Chambers, not Barrett. But, Barrett isn't a bad oppenent for his first fight I guess. I hope he fights Chambers after the Barrett fight though.
