nobody gives a **** about him being ******. boxing fans love seeing hypejobs exposed, thats all there is to it, theres nothing sinsiter or racist in that. Also british fans love seeing frank warren making an absolute arse up with his last cash cow. Seriously, the 'hate' would be the same were he black or white, if he'd been ****ing about fighting nobodies for years and soaking up every newspaper page devoted to boxing.

oh and last time I checked, bookies make the odds. Not people with boxing knowledge, it's based on how much money they recieve for each bet, not who people think will win.

I know you didnt think much of Khan, but to say that nobody who knows anything about boxing thought he would be good is utter bull****.

Bookies make odds that people will bet on. If they made Khan a -1600 favorite that means they knew plenty of British fans would be willing to lay down 1600 pounds to win 100.

Now correct me if I am wrong. But if somebody wagers that type of money for so little reward is it not safe to say they did so because they thought he was a damn good fighter?

16/1 means if they put down 100 they recieve 1600.

The people who put that money on it only knew about Khan and based their opnion on what Frank Warren and the papers and television channels said about Khans ability, they all have vested interests in him so theyre always gonna talk him up. If Khans fights werent shown on terrestrial channels, they probably wouldnt give a **** about boxing.

Let me ask you this, if you were considering betting on a sport you knew hardly anything about but all the media was talking up a certain result as a sure thing, you'd be inclined to not go against the common consensus when you laid down your money wouldnt you?

Anyone who knew about boxing knew Khan was gonna lose sooner or later, the people who got their info didnt see it coming and the bookies cleaned up!

                    But why?

I actually made a thread ask this straight after the fight. I mean, people were hyper-ventilating due to the joy and laughter. It just struck me as odd. I couldn't get my head around it....

And then I myself acknowlegded the elephant...

Khan is a young ****** male.

Now, I'm not saying everyone hates him so much because of his race and religion. I myself dislike some sportsment for reasons which probably wouldn't up to scrutiny. I know sometimes it just happens.

But come on, folks. We're talking something like 95% of people who were delighted to see a young man get brutally knocked out in front of his family. That can't be right. I don't just mean people on here, I'm talking everywhere - other boxing forums, non-boxing forums, real life.

Look, I'm one of those people who becomes exasperated when people go for the race card. That whole Floyd/HBO thing was bollocks.

But, IMHO, I cant see any other reason here.

Khan might be a little ****y but which boxer isn't???? In fact, I always construed this attitude more as ambition rather than a loathsome hubris.

See, let's compare him to Naseem Hamed. I used to know people who used to think he was despised because of his race. I disagreed because I thought he was just such a disrespectful prick sometimes (although I do love him now more than I ever did back then) that people thought he was insufferable.

But Khan...he seems like a decent guy. For all his chin/defence problems, I admire his heart to get up and keep going. The kid's got bottle. And he's never been mean and horribly cutting that some boxers can be.

And yet...people despise him to a frightening degree.

What gets me the most are all the ****ing Brits who hate him. These ****s should be thankful that a 17 year old kid had the balls to front up and fight men older and more experienced than him. If it wasn't for Khan, you wouldn't have even had a boxing team in 2004, he was the sole representative...or have you ****ing forgotten that? And do you not think Khan was inspiration in some way to the team of 2008? ****s.

                    Anyway...

I just find all the Khan hate borderline disturbing. And even though it's a depressing thought, I cannot help but feel that who he is - a young ****** male- is the reason for all the vitriol.

                    Discuss.

you think the boxing world was in jubilation after Khan's exposure? watch what happens if Haye gets KTFO...it'll be triple that

hype doesn't build legacies...only animosity...in this sport, ya gotta earn before you talk it

To be honest Audley Harrison is not a ******,but you can't exactly say he's loved by the British public.
