Anyone who didn't laugh at Khan getting KO'd clearly has no sense of humour. Here we had the great hope/hype of British Boxing ... someone with clearly all the talent in the world but being built up into something he clearly wasn't ...being absolutely blitzed by the latest tomato can his promoter fed him. It's the era of the Cult of Celebrity and Boxing's biggest one just got his arse handed to him.

I hate ****s who try to turn any argument about Khan into a racial one.

Anyway, good news people, it was all his trainer's fault. Obviously.

I think it has little to do with religion though I won't be surprised if there are a few bigots who have that as a major reason, but I believe it has more to do with all the attention and the hype he generated after his Olympic stint.

You all know how it happens with these unproven prospects. All of a sudden there was this young kid being touted as the next Naz or something, and all the speculation by gullible admirers got worse and got out of hand as his pro career progressed beating on nobodies. Still, we hear his name being tossed into the speculative mix along with marquee fighters who've gone through the gauntlet of worthy opponents to earn their reputation.

That's just it. Khan and his people are demanding the respect yet he hasn't really done anything that impressive to merit the kind of adulation he's getting while he (and a lot of deluded fans) fashions himself as the next big thing even when he's having trouble surviving against bums. His deluded fans continued to eat up all the hype they were being fed. That's why I feel a lot more sensible people who weren't that impressed with him thought he had it coming and were glad when it finally did.

The majority of knowledgeable fans knew what was up, it was only a matter of time that Khan would get chin checked, though not necessarily the way it did eventually pan out against Prescott.

But then it has to be said that unfortunately there are those who took great pleasure from seeing Khan losing for other than purely boxing reasons.

Of course, these people will never openly admit this, but it would be naive to assume EVERYONE was happy to see Khan lose just because he was a boxing hypejob.

I think it was because of how arrogant Khan was a couple of months ago, calling out Campbell and the top guys in the division without beating anyone of note and the hype he was getting was way too much for a guy that hasn't proven much.

If it wasn't for Khan, you wouldn't have even had a boxing team in 2004, he was the sole representative...or have you ****ing forgotten that? And do you not think Khan was inspiration in some way to the team of 2008? ****s.
Ha ha, owned, you ****ing hypocrite.

I liked Khan and I still do hope he gets back to it, but funnny is funny, he got completely exposed and after all that build up it did bring a smile to my face, I dont see anything wrong with that, he should earn the respect of boxing fans, we're not here to just accept a devestaing loss without comment, particularly when we've paid £14.99 to watch a guy who's clearly not at PPV level yet, same with Enzo Mac, I was rooting for him but Haye exposed the guy, a little smile appeared on my face after that fight also....worst still for Khan because unfortunately it seems for him he's got people around him who tell him he's got an Allah's given right to be a world champion, and had pretty much crowned him without ONE decent win!!

Theres no racism here, its just British humour, almost slapstick in its childishness but funny all the same, all that build up and what do we get for it a guy who can't take a jab without dancing. I want my £14.99 back!!!!

I was disappointed he lost - but not surprised.

I'm not buying the ****** angle at all. Most fight fans would put Muhammad Ali as their No.1 ATG so I don't see how faith could engender such negative connotations in a boxer today.

My take is that people wanted to see Khan fall because the Media built him up to ridiculous proportions. Couple that with the general antipathy towards anything Frank Warren related and you have all the ingredients necessary for a hate campaign.
