the 175 hopkins was able to floor a 175 calzaghe.

trinidad KO'd joppy in round 5. joppy later lost decisions to hopkins/taylor.

    can trinidad hurt calzaghe?

or is calzaghe's unorthodox skills too much for trinidad?

is 166 too high for trinidad? will calzaghe be drained at 166?
    Just look at my sig.

    The answer is there.

lacy was never the kinda fighter that tito was at the time.never.to compare that tito to manfredo or lacy is ****ing ******.
Calzaghe can box watch the Kessler, Eubank fights where he outboxes the other fighter. Infact in the Eubank fight his workrate wasn't all the spectacular just quite high.

I think Tito is WAY better than Lacy. But again I think the style matchup would be similar.

Tito has massive power so he could always take someone out with one shot, but I don't see that happening. Tito has problems with movers. Calzaghe moves.

That's all. And i"m not a Joe fan at all.

He fought Kessler on his back foot, after Kessler figured him out with his right uppercut.
In fact thats where he won that fight, outjabbing Mikkel and giving him angles.

Yeah you should see the Kessler fight. He does switch it to the outside in that one.

His two best wins were probably fighting off the back foot against Kessler and Lacy.

Hence why he'd have Pavlik's style for breakfast.

Can Trinidad hurt Calzaghe at 160-166?

It's possible. Tito was able to damage Mayora and Cherifi at 160 although they are not elite fighters like Winky, Jones Jr, or Calzaghe, I don't think a gain of six pounds would take from his power.

Contrary to what some people have been saying here, Calzaghe is actually a very good boxer. Good reflexes, good accuracy and he's not bad on his feet, just carefully observe his fights against Manfredo, Eubanks, Lacy and Kessler you will see it. Trinidad was a battering ram at 147 and carried much of that power to the later weight divisions, but that's really all he had, he was a one trick pony. It's just that Tito was so good at that trick, that's all he needed for much of his career as he was able to overpower most of his opponents. Calzaghe's overall boxing ability would top Tito's power.

Is 166 too High for Tito, will Calzaghe be drained at 166?

I don't think Tito would preform well overall at 166, he looked pretty out of shape at 160 and got handled by the elite competition in that weight division.

Calzaghe would probably tax himself going for 166, he already looks too thin at 168 although I don't know how that would affect his boxing ability.
