calslappy will make all the excuses he could to avoid pavlik.
Will boxing fans allow Calzaghe to retire without facing Pavlik?

while i really want the fight to happen i can not blame joe. if he feels it's time to go than it is. he is getting older, he may be feeling he lost a step, and it's time to go. i give more cred to a guy who goes out on top, and does not hang around to long and get old.Comment

All these threads are bull****. The same **** gets said about any boxer when it comes to retirement time. There is always 'one more boxer' to fight or they are ducking them. If Joe feels now is the right time for retirement then so be it. If he stayed for one more fight and fought Pavlik then you guys would soon come up with another opponent that he is ducking. All bull****.
Same **** was said with Floyd.Comment

The post I responded to in this thread. You said "He owes the sport and fans". How exactly does he owe them? Explain it to me. Explain how a guy who has trained and fought over 40 fights over the space of well over a decade and has given his fans plenty of memorable moments all whilst suffering from severe hand injuries owes it to the sport?Comment
