Not the bull**** Calzaghe has built. If your going to point at Pavliks record keep in mind that Pavlik is 12 years younger and has 34 fights to Cals 45. This is the beginning for Pavlik he has a lot of time to build his name, Cal is almost done with no signifcant wins under his belt, this is the true problem with Calzaghe.
I dont know about the significant names thing because Eubank, Hopkins, Kessler were/are all good fighters and unlike winky, DLH, and Tito they were all equal size to Calzaghe not smaller men. So the "no significant wins" talk is crazy. Give the fighter his dues even if you dont like the person.

How does Pavlik win against Calzaghe? I just don't see what he brings that Calzaghe isn't better/bigger at or hasn't faced and beat in the past.

Pavlik should stay at MW and unify those titles. Even a somewhat shot Calzaghe would have way too much for him.

Maybe I'm overrating Pav's power but IMO he'd be the hardest puncher Joe ever fought.

Taylor alone is a bigger fight then anyone Cal has ever faced (keep in mind Bhop was way over the hill when cal "beat" him). In fact I doubt Cal could ever get past Taylor. The fact is you keep saying over 20 title fights, 45-0, and all I see is bull**** fights against no namers, old schoolers, and overhyped fighters end of story. Like I said Taylor alone is worth more then Cals whole resume (let alone Taylor twice).
Taylor wasn't even that good. Pavlik beat him twice, knocking him out in the first meeting. There's also the 8 lbs weight difference, Taylor was a middleweight and Calzaghe is a super middleweight, he would have no problem
          with Taylor.

According to him Roy Jones and Bhop were ducking him their whole career? Interesting considering I can't remember a single attempt by Calzaghe to set up a fight with either guy, or even to cross over into the US fight scene (which at the time happened to be where all the real fighter were.)
Don't know if anyone pulled you up on this, but a fight with Hopkins was all but set up in 2002, then Hopkins decided he wanted double money having already agreed to a fee in principle. A ducking if I ever saw one. That is a fact. Apparantly Calzaghe offered to fight Jones after the first Tarver fight as well, although that could be bull****.

Pavlik would get a good slapping off Calzaghe and anyone with an understanding of boxing knows it. His style is built for Calzaghe. Pavlik is a front foot fighter who punches straight with predictable one-two combinations. Calzaghe would counter him all night.

Cal is dumb because how you gonna call pavlik an overrated fighter and say u tried to fight him back in the day.. that makes your resume (cal) look suspect.. he's admitting to tryin to fight a unknown untested fighter.. for the record Calzaghe would probably beat Pavlik because to me Pav is one dimensional and he is a little overrated.. aside from the 2 taylor fights he hasnt realy fought anyone good and now all the sudden they have him ranked a top 5 fighter?? miranda is some overblown wannabe mike tyson, luckett is pure trash and the list goes on.. when he beat taylor, he barely won the first fight some argue he didnt win the second one.. its obvious he can fight because he's champ for some reason.. pav has good power and a good work rate, im not trying to hate but i dont think he is as good as people make him out to be and if he and calzaghe fight im pretty sure calzaghe will outbox him and defeat him.. cal is the better boxer, can adapt to styles, and has fought at higher weight classes presumably against bigger punchers than pavlik..

as much as i dont care for calzaghe or pavlik for that matter, how in the blue hell does pavlik simply crush calzaghe?? that honestly doesnt make sense.. calzaghe would box circles around pavlik and people are overrating pav's punching power.. cal has been in there with much bigger guys that pav.. pav a beast?? he had life and death with jermain taylor who has been on the downside ever since he had emanuel steward as his trainer.. cal's best victories have come against older past their prime fighters but i'll take his resume over pav's.. pav hasnt really done anything yet and people are overrating his skills and accomplishment thus far

You are IMO. I wouldn't put him in the top 5.

Calzaghe would make Pavlik look like an amateur, be realistic about it.

Pavlik is victim of hype. Although I doubt it, B-Hop might expose him.

Pavlik and Calzaghe both need to get their heads down and concentrate on their up and coming fights.

Calzaghe needs to stop running his mouth and finish the job in hand with Jones Jr and finish his career unbeaten.

Pavlik needs to stop 'calling him out' as its probably a bluff as he knows Calzaghe had signed the Roy Jones Jr fight and intended on making his last fight. Calzaghe is the past and there are other boxers Pavlik should think about calling out.
