Super middleweight/light heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe had a field day with WBO/WBC middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik. Calzaghe said he is tired of Pavlik trying to make name for himself by continuously calling him out. He claims that Pavlik has ducked the opportunity to fight him, and says the only reason Pavlik is calling him out is because he already signed to fight Roy Jones Jr. on November 8 in New York's Madison Square Garden. Kind of being a hypocrit now that they both have fights in front of them to go now and run his mouth. **** you JC. I actually hope you beat RJJ, in a way, even though I don't think you will, then you can finally put your mouth where Pav's glove is. Stop running your mouth and concentrate on the fight you have in front of you. IF, and that's a big IF, you do win, you better not run into the night and say you have nothing more to prove, because your mouth is saying otherwise right now.Comment

That's all hype nothing more. Calzaghe knows what its like to be avoided/missed-the-chance to fight the top guys so there's no way he doesn't respect Pavlik after seeing what he did to Taylor. I think if anything its back and forth bs between the camps trying to hype the upcoming Pav-Cal blockbuster in '09 provided both win their next fights.Comment

Wow, sounds like someone is a little fearful of Pavlik. I don't care what he says. I've never heard the name Pavlik come out of his mouth back in the day. Not in interviews, not in post fight comments, nothing. Pavlik would stomp his ass. Calzaghe has built a false reputation on beating UK competition. Pavlik has been through tougher competition coming up. I really wish he would quit bitching about this and man up to Pavlik. He's probably upset b/c noone is excited for his fight with RJJ.Comment

Calzaghes mouth needs to stop writing checks his ass cant cash. He wouldnt last 10 rounds in the ring with Pavlik. When I hear overrated I think Calzaghe. I think its about time he steps up his competiton from nobodys/have beens and steps in the ring with the elite today. He wouldnt even get past Taylor. According to him Roy Jones and Bhop were ducking him their whole career? Interesting considering I can't remember a single attempt by Calzaghe to set up a fight with either guy, or even to cross over into the US fight scene (which at the time happened to be where all the real fighter were.)Comment
