What are some of you talking about?

Johnson is a very good choice for a first proper opponent at heavyweight. Sure he hasn't got much power, but he is technically pretty good otherwise and looks quick for a heavyweight. He is also an undefeated prospect and an American one at that, which may boost Haye's profile with the casual fans (who, like it or not, make or break boxing megastars with their attention or lack of attention). Beating Johnson would be a decent win on his resume and technically he would have beaten a top 10 heavyweight.

I much prefer Johnson to the washed up Rahman, Maskaev or Toney. Although I can understand if he does settle for one of them. Seems quite a few people have been dodging the Hayemaker.

exactly! anyone heard those radio podcasts with haye talking MASSIVE ****? fighting an un named fighter makes the path to klischko just another fight further.

My first impression was "WTF?", but thinking about it. Haye does need to proove he deserves a title shot, fighting undefeated prospects is the way to do it. With that said, I don't think it's a coincedence he is looking to fight a fairly weak puncher.

EDIT- Although, after all the talking he has done. Haye looks pretty silly right now

Wlads a *****, he didn't need to fight Povetkin and would have been in for a career high payday against Haye.

Wlad *****ing out of a career high payday. lol
            wow.

povetkin is a mandatory, just like every other fighter klitschko has been facing. over the course of his comeback he has entirely fought mandatories, title holders, and avenged a loss. you say klitschko is dodging haye, but then haye picks a fighter with extreme low ko risks...

Haye choose an opponent who has 0 chance at beating him... I guess that khan loss really did effect fighters of england... Now, they want to take the safe routes.

Calzaghe went up in weight to fight Hopkins(even an old hopkins is a tough sob, so don't say oh but he was old)... This fight from Haye is ridiculous, because Kevin Johnson is no Hopkins kind of fighter... Wow, just wow. I thought david haye may have been something to bring excitement to the heavyweights but it seems like he is looking to take on easy opponent in the heavyweight division. Haye is the one saying he had a hard time making cruiserweight anymore, so he goes up to heavy weight to fight clowns?

a fighter can talk a lot of **** to hype himself up but eventually u have to fight. I was entertained just as much as everyone else by haye clowning wlad.. But ****, just fight already!!.. I don't give a **** who it is.. Any fighter in the top 20 will do, I just want to check him out at heavyweight and see if there is real potential with his step up in weight class

This is a decent fight for Haye. Johnson is limited offensively, but he sure can box. Not a KO puncher, or a puncher at all, but if he has a chin he would beat most of the top 10. He has confidence and does not try to fight out of character. So this is a decent fight. Haye just set the bar too high for himself with all of his **** talking.

Kevin Johnson reminds me a lot of Larry Donald, and that's not so much a good thing.

Larry Donald had a good chin though, I guess we will see whether Kevin Johnson has one if he fights David Haye.

It will take something like this to make people interested in the fight.
