I just watched the Liddell fight and for the first 4 minutes nearly nothing happen. MMA fans argue that boxing is boring but what about MMA. Nearly 90% of the time they walk around and measure themselves followed by boring ground work or a quick punch to the chin ends it. MMA is usually boring IMO, the only exciting part is when they go toe to toe which I get from boxing.
They do this weird sorta muay thai stance where they shuffle their feet, put their hands right out in front of them opening themselves for an overhand right, they shuffle around, feel eachother out, then when you think something good is going to happen, one of them will shoot then they will start grappling with eachother, trying to mount one another. Then there would be some mediocre stoppage, a double armed super mount armbar or some ****.

The only time mma can be exciting is when they employ a boxing approach and stand toe to toe, trade hayemakers, but thats something you can get from most boxer-punchers in bouts

most strikers in mma are kickboxers/muay thai guys.

their stance has to be different. different strikes involved in mma compared to boxing. blocking/defense is different as well. the gloves are small.

if you're not into grappling you won't like mma. i watch mma for grappling.

stances in MMA are also different to allow for a better defense against takedowns

thats why their hands are right out in front of them, to guard against a shoot/take down, yeah? how has liddell built his reputation in the ufc? from strike KO's? no wonder, the guys dont even have decent defense against strikes
