That's the sad part. Everyone talks about great up and coming fighters, yet no one puts them on undercard. And then if they do, they put them against scrubs or guys who totally mirror styles, thus making the fight super boring and sinking popularity of the fighter.

I am a fan of both. I'll say MMA is more consistently exciting. Boxing though has potential to be soooo much more exciting. MMA's greatest fights will never compare to boxing's greatest. Not for a long time at least.

We shouldn't. But the fighters do. And when they get paid a fraction of what boxers get, for world championship fights, they will start complaining. And when they do, you won't see 5 or 6 world championship fights on 1 card for 29.95.

Its almost as if some diehard boxing fans are threatened by mma. They speak about with hate and resentment! LOL. I dont understand.

I am a fan of both, but I was disappointed in both shows. I expected the fights to be much more entertaining.

The UFC one was boring. The Henderson match was lack luster. Switching from the strikers of UFC (who did mostly nothing) to the Jorge Barrios fight only proved to me that boxing is still more exciting for me.

Of course, it depends on who's fighting. It it was Mayweather, I wouldn't say this.

He made an interesting point that im sure many of you here wont agree with. He said that for $44.95, you get more for your money watching a MMA card, than u do watching a ppv boxing match. In boxing u get 1 main event, with 2-3 undercards, whereas in UFC/MMA, almost every fight onthe card is a championship/main event fight.

We kept going back and forth between channels, and we both agreed on the fact that the UFC fights kept us more on the edge of our seats than the boxing matches that were going on, due to the fact that when both fighters were standing (in ufc), we didnt know what to expect. It could be a punch, kick to the head, elbow, take down, knee, etc. In boxing, its pretty basic, and u kind of know what to expect from the opening bell. Now im not trying to praise mma and put boxing down, but i can see how some mma viewers can see boxing as "bland" compared to mma in some instances.

Now i enjoyed both boxing matches yesterday. I felt they were very entertaining, but towards the middle -late rounds of the Diaz/Katsidis fight, i found myself yawning just a bit. Not because it was boring, but because it was repetitive. Each round looked like the previous round.

Some, if not, most of u guys here shun upon MMA, and that's your preference. I personally am a fan of both. Most of u guys here see submission fighting as "gay", but i would love to see one of u guys get it on with a world class submission specialist, and tell him that it is gay when he has you in tears from a submission hold. LOL. It takes much skill to perfect the art of submission. One wrong move or turn, and one of your limbs/joints will snap like a pretzel stick.

So lets all appreciate both sports for what they are. I've seen some VERY boring boxing matches, and the same goes for mma. No need to keep with the back and forth about what sport is better.

                      Your thoughts?

                      **** UFC and MMA
