and what gives with everyone completely writing him off.......i think we should at least see what the next couple fights bring until making a statement like that.
He's a spokesman for the project, it's not like he donated the lumber.

      ITS THE BUILDUP......................THAT'S THE CURSE

You build someone up too much and then they get broke down.

      This is the result.

You cant shelter a child it will be lost when it leaves the nest.

You cant shelter a fighter he will be knocked the **** out.

He's on ppv after 19 fights against a no-name for a nonexistent title. It's not his decision but Warren also loses so that's gotta be good. I don't mind Khan but I never thought he was that good. Thought he might survive to win an alphabet though.

Not to mention, I was just thinking about how sad the Brits were going to be, how much boxingscene was blowing up at the time, and really, the irony of the people who paid for the PPV only to see their star get sparked in less than a minute.

            Irony is pretty delicious.
I didn't really rate the kid Kahn and hated the hype that came with Olympic boxers such as him and Harrison but your post is truly sad and exposes you as an authentic mayweather bumlicker

Yeah, he thought he could beat the best, but don't most young prospects? The difference is that Khan had a camera in front of him 24/7, and was constantly asked about Hatton etc.

There are people on this forum who spend more time hating on certain boxers than they do talking about their favourites. It's a bit weird really.
I agree with everything in this post.

For me it's a couple of things.

                  1. The media takes guys like Khan, and hype them to no end. He's gonna be this, he's gonna be that. Imagine if this kid had an HBO contract. Lampley would have been licking his sack for real. And the media puts these guys so high in their rankings, even though they haven't fought anybody. So much hype is placed on these undefeated records, that anyone 15-0 or better is some kind of messiah, even if they've only fought nothing but dummies.

                  2. The illogical fan. You know what I'm talking about. 24 hours ago you could find posts saying Khan would murder Pac, Campbell, Marquez, Diaz, Hatton, Floyd, etc., etc., etc. If nothing else, at least this keeps those clowns off the boards for a few days......lol

                  3. The fighters themselves. Alot of these undefeated guys have been handed everything from the start, because a promoter or a network thought they were marketable. It didnt matter if they could fight or not. That's bad for the sport. So they got matched with 15 or 20 dummies, got a few highlight reel ko's, and start believing their own press. This sport is no joke, and it's good to see guys who haven't paid their dues get their come-uppance. I've read plenty of quotes from Khan, saying he would beat Pac, Nate, Hatton, etc. Being confident is one thing. Saying "I'd like to fight them, and I think I could win" is great. Saying "He cant hang with me" about established, accomplished fighters, when you haven't actually fought anyone yet, is disrespectful. He hadn't earned the right to talk that way yet. Beat a top 10 guy, or a top 20 guy, or in Khan's case even a top 50 guy. Once you've done that, THEN run your mouth.

The reason this guy got big was because of the Olympics, the British media goes mad for an Olympic medalist. Hatton never got this kind of hype from the media in his early days
