the reason people cheer is becuase he started to act like he was the second coming, and saying silly things like he'd beat hatton.
its good to see him get humbled and finally end the hype around him.

Did he get exposed tonight? Yes.

Will he become an elite-level boxer? Not with that chin.

But he's a young kid who won an Olympic silver at 17, has alot of natural ability, but just happens to be afflicted with a glass chin.

A young boxer who brought alot of exposure to boxing got brutally knocked out and, without wanting to sound over-dramatic, probably had his career path ended.

I'm not saying we should all light a candle but it's kinda weird to see so many people rejoicing!

      What gives, guys?
      good post.

reasons i can think of are:

      1) people are happy Sky and Frank Warren are left red faced with their cash cow being sparked and their PPv being a flop. (I am disapointed Kahn lost but sympathise with thos point of view)

      2) people are sick of the hype surrounding him and his bandwaggon fans. personally i think anyone who can bring mainstream audience to boxing should be applauded for it.

      3) he was a Great British hope so non UK fans might be happy

      4) he is ****** so sadly racists will be happy

When he was talking about Hatton and Pac, it was more a sort of over-eagerness than a dismissive arrogance. I mean, I quite liked that he wanted to fight the best, rather than go down the traditional Frank Warren route for as long as possible.

And anyway.... if you're 21, undefeated, won an Olympic silver medal at 17 and are a BOXER (probably the most notoriously arrogant athletes in the world), then I don't see how you can not have a touch of arrogance about you, lol.

I mean, his post-fight interview seemed pretty humble. I think the arrogance think is overplayed, tbh.

I agree, He said that he lost to a better man. Got caught and couldn't recover and he would work on his flaws. I don't see what's wrong there.

Me personally dont feel anything towards what Khan has done, He is a young boxer trying to make it but i feel if you're not Hatton or close to that then anything you say would be taken as been arrogant.

Alot of people dont like carl froch just because he talk himself up, you have to realise that most boxing fans are a bunch of sensitive people who have a low self-esteem.

It was irritating to hear how he was going to be better than FMJ to be honest...

Not to mention, I was just thinking about how sad the Brits were going to be, how much boxingscene was blowing up at the time, and really, the irony of the people who paid for the PPV only to see their star get sparked in less than a minute.

                  Irony is pretty delicious.
